Why exactly are gay marriages not recognized in the U.S. ?

    In November, the state of Nevada will be faced with Question #2 which involves this state's version of the Defense of Marriage act (DoM pronounced: Dum). In 2000, voters here approved of the Dum act. Although support for the Dum act has been waning, it's likely to pass a second time this year, making it into the Nevada state constitution, even though the Nevada constitution ALREADY discriminates against gay marriages, both here and out-of-state. This Dum act is redundant and unnecessary!

    Really not looking forward to having my legal status as Second-class Citizen in this country being reaffirmed yet again...

      I demand the right to marry my dog! We are the perfect couple and I want him to receive my veterans benefits and all the other benefits of being married.

        Dogs can't give consent.

              1) Because they're genetically related; can cause serious problems for any offspring. Just look in the backwaters of the Deep South states...

              2) Because of Judeo-Christian-Islamic et al morality issues.

              3) Because we're different, incompatible species. A dog is hardly a consenting adult. Same goes for horses and other non-Human animals.

                              Islam says you can have a maximum of four wives, but you can have consorts/concubines as well. They don't count against the limit.
