I've never understood the need to give metaphysics such a central role in life. Speculation can be fun and all, but it's still just speculation.

I kept running into trouble in my ethics classes with people who believed that metaphysics was an inextricable part of ethics, or even that metaphysics was equivalent to ethics. I tried to understand where they were coming from, but we usually remained at an impasse. Ah well, **** it.

No one is deserving of worship, it's a pointless exercise that tends to only annoy the person being worshipped unless they have a fragile ego and low self esteem...

My God does not ask for worship, or temples of gold, or complicated ritual. To live happily is enough.

Somebody's just scared of life. It gives you comfort to believe in the afterlife and think someone's out there watching over you, and regular prayer is just like a security blanket for you.
