Does anyone know where I can find a list of upcoming Gamecube games?

BTW, any news on XIII and Jedi Knight II?

      No, I don't think it's heroes.

The new game was announced only a couple weeks ago and they haven't released any details besides only coming out on the Xbox and being a complete original (non licensed) game. Which means it's not D&D at all.

Dungeons and Dragons Heroes was announced a long time ago, and I think someone else is making it.

Ooohh, this thread again. I have a GC, and I enjoy it. I know people with either the Box or PS2, and both seem like fine systems.

Also have a GBA. Damn fine system, like a hand-held SNES (IMHO the best console system ever made).

It's all about the games, though, not the hardware. Imagine, if the hardware of the three systems was all mixed up (i.e. ps2 w/ x-box hardware, etc.) would you still be pulling for it? I would, because of the games.

The problem is most of the "games" end up on all of the platforms, and the platform with the best hardware looks and plays best.

Try playing Turok Evolution on the PS2 and see how far you get. Not only does it look far worse than the Gamecube/Xbox version, but instead of running at 60fps it runs at 30fps (usually much below, it's definitely choppy) with less stuff on the screen.

Playing FPSes isn't fun when it's choppy.

Then again, some of the Nintendo games coming out aren't looking too hot either. Super Mario Sunshine got an 8.0 from Gamespot.

                I wouldn't count on it.

The only reason Halo is coming out on the PC/Mac eventually is because that's the deal MS made with Bungie when they acquired them.

Crimson Skies doesn't have the same kind of deal, and MS wants unique content for the Xbox.

I don't like consoles, they're only good for one thing: Fighting games

But the worst console (of the new consoles) that exists, is the gamecube...The reason: Damn, it's ugly
This space is empty... or is it?

                    ok..i'm say ps2..but here's why:
you have a much greater range of games to play. ps2 alone has a greater variety than game cube or xbox AND you also can still play your fav ps1 games. the dvd is a plus too ....
don't get a game cube...blah! kiddie games (sans eternal darkness but one game isn't reason enough to purchase a whole consol)

So is Squaresoft going to make any games for the X-Box or GC? They make the Chrono series of games and, right now, they're only available for the PS1. (The ChronoTrigger re-release and ChronoCross.)

Square is developing Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle for the Cube, which is also going to utilize the GBA hookup for the Gamecube.

SegaGT is out in 3 days.
                          not here it isn't

                          125+ fully licensed cars
That's how many cars GT Concept has. not all that much.

name three X-Box PAL games worth buying. And don't count Halo, cause shooters are for PCs. I'm talking about "typical" console games. RPGs, fighting, racing and soccer games.

Is there any PAL Xbox game that beats FFX, VR3, GT3, VF4, T4 or PES?

I've done this before with you, you're one of those people who no matter what I'd name you'd claim it's not better. Why bother?

There's no better Rally Racer than Rallisport Challenge, there's no better Moto racer than MotoGP, there's no better console FPS than Halo (you're missing out if you think they're only for PC -- coop Halo is awesome, but oh well), and fighters haven't changed much in years.

Quite frankly I think they're all boring as hell, and I also hate FFX. If you're into the queer "hold your hand" turn-based RPGs like FFX, then you'd be better off with the PS2. Personally I like playing games, and FFX comes off more of a "choose your own adventure" movie to me.

I'll ask you this though, are there any PS2 PAL games which beat: Halo, Rallisport Challenge, Project Gotham Racing (it's NOT a racer like GT3, and if you think it is you've never played it), MotoGP, JSRF, Morrowind, World Series Baseball?

I'll help you out in advance and answer "no".

There are some games for the PS2 that the Xbox doesn't have something better yet (Crimson Sea has a huge budget and is the same style of game as FFX by some Japanese developer, which comes out before the end of the year, but I don't think it'll be able to compete with Square). The PS2 is already nearly two and a half years old, so it kinda figures that they've got a lot of games out there for people to try.

My beef is most of the games suck. And you have no idea how bad a PS2 looks hooked up to a bigscreen HDTV.

RUMOUR WHIRLWIND AS MICROSOFT MOVES ON RARE

And before you say, "But it was supposed to be Activision," word is that there simply wasn't enough cash in the bank: full story inside

17:18 UK sources indicated today that the long-rumoured Microsoft take-over move on Rare may be imminent. Insiders have now set a price of £350 million for the developer, which at the moment is owned by Nintendo to the tune of 49 percent of its stock.
Rare refused to comment on the speculation today.

The news is looking likely to be a jigsaw piece that slots in nicely to make a final, Rare-shaped picture. Talk is heating up today regarding an apparently huge announcement at Microsoft's X02 event in Seville later this month, which will be specifically software related. Rumour has been constant recently regarding the next Perfect Dark game heading exclusively to Xbox. See what we mean?

More. Chatter of the Stamper brothers, founders of the developer, looking to sell up has been circulating for more than a year. It's now widely well known that Activision looked seriously at buying the outfit earlier this year, but British sources this morning hinted that Rare was simply too rich for the publisher's blood.

Microsoft is said to have held a meeting recently with Rare in a hotel near Twycross, the developer's base. Exactly the same talk emerged when Activision was looking over the company's book.

Even more. Rare appears to have cancelled two projects recently, removing the links to the games from the company's website. "It's simply due to updating the site," said Rare by way of explanation last month. Still "updating" then, are you boys? Apparently so.

"There's one guy running the website here," said a Rare employee today. "He's got fairly minimal support, so he's doing all of that at the same time as doing all the instruction books."

The games are still under development, the source added. Current speculation suggests the titles are being doctored to remove Donkey Kong, a Nintendo property, from the games.

Obviously, there's more. When questioned on the state of Nintendo's relationship with Rare at E3 this year, Nintendo heavyweights would only say that the only Rare game being shown for GameCube was Starfox Adventures: Dinosaur planet because that was the only title coming out in this financial year. Then they said refused to say anything else. We suggest you look carefully at the huge gaps between these lines.

While Microsoft remained unavailable for comment today, don't expect this to go away. As soon as we hear more, we'll let you know."
