For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio
That's a pretty naive statement, especially considering the evidence that Saddam has chemical and biological weapons. The only WOMD we suspect he doesn't have is nuclear, which the world would be smart to keep out of Saddam's reach.
And no, I don't think that an attack on Iraq would have anything to do with oil. We don't need Iraqi oil; if we did, we would have taken Baghdad back in 1991.

Blah....
Good luck
We don't need your help for that. We have capability to produce much, MUCH more oil then we are now. We just don't do it to keep prices high. (only, to piss you off a little, because we are evilcommiesantiAmerican bastards of course )

What evidence?
Do you have a full version of story how Saddam used chemical weapons?

Give me a break. If you could produce and deliver any more oil to market, you would be doing so at these fat prices.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
DanS,
Do you ever heard about proposal-price conection (or whatever it called on your monkey language)? Many oil-lower prices, less oil higher prices. It's simple.
Few months ago we decreased our oil output in accordance with agreements with OPEC for few months, just to keep prices high. We can do it again any time.
FYI, it is widely understood that y'all didn't hold to that agreement, even for a moment.
Not that I blame you though. You guys need the $ and OPEC can just as well sod off. Only a fool wouldn't ratchet up production at these prices.

First of all we are not a member of OPEC and as far as I remember we fulfilled our agreement with them. Our oil output was reduced for few months. But you right, why we should we care about OPEC's opinion, while we can make an additional $$$.
Actually yes.
But if so, perhaps you somehow forget about Hiroshima and Nagasaky. USA is the only country of the World which used nukes. Why Americans consider that they have right to have them, while Iraq can not?

My production (roaylty interests) have gone way up, as well as leasing activity on non-producing mineral interests. Most of my mineral interests are in marginal properties (not enough fracturing or pourousness for the oil to flow through the rock, or old fields nearing the end of production and needing enhanced recovery techniques) that are not ecomonic at lower prices; the cost of production is too high. They kick in around $25 dollars a barrel. There is a significant supply of these properties in Texas, and I would assume so elsewhere in the USA, which rapidly make a MODEST adjust to supply when the prices rise enough to cover the higher production costs. *COUGH COUGH* AHEM! Canada? We DID take in the september 11th terrorists before they went flying. And untill last week, we were accepting anyone. Now tho, we turn away stranded refugees, so we are getting better in a bad way
