Well, Ramo, now take a wild guess: how much do US farmers get?
"The number of political murders was a little under one million (800,000 - 900,000)." - chegitz guevara on the history of the USSR. "I think the real figures probably are about a million or less." - David Irving on the number of Holocaust victims.

Hm. I recall the figure was 23, according to OECD, but heck, I can't be bothered to search for it. Anyway, this particular shame is shared between the EU and the US.
And to think that we'd managed to do away with all agricultural subsidies in Sweden before we joined the EU...

I completely agree, of course. Protectionism is a crappy policy.

Something astounding here is that most EU-flag users are Germans. Well, maybe because there are not many latin people here, and people north of Germany seem to be mostly nationalistic (these fuxing Britons are not in the Shengen-area, meaning you still have to show your passport whenever you board the France - Britain train. sigh )

Frostycreep,
I think dear friend that you are not living in reality. The most of European Union Citizens (except Englishmen) they are talking two or three languages!
Examples:
1) Netherlands, second OFFICIAL language is English
2) Sweden, 2nd second OFFICIAL language is English and 3rd is German
3) Finland, 2nd OFFICIAL language is English
4) Belgium, Official languages: German and French, (official also english)
5) Germany: the education system prepares citizens to choosing and learning TWO different languages.
6) Denmark: 2nd OFFICIAL language is English and 3rd German.
7) In Greece every citizen under 30 is knowing at least English and another language (most populars are German and French).
If you have understand the citizens of EU under the age of 30-40 are knowing English as a FOREIGN BASIC LANGUAGE.
What is gonna happening in the next 20 years? We are going to have: a COMMON administration, with 25-30 states (members).
We already have a common market, a common currency and shortly will going to have a more flexible European Parliament - like the US model (probably).
Most likely means in 2005 we will have an executive body of elected citizens that will be called "Senate".
If you believe that aphorisms they will protect your country, then you must get to know that your country is the one that is affected today more by fluctuation Euro-Dollar.
Perhaps you should read this link, in order to occupy how it will be Europe tomorrow.
With or without the G. Britain the remainder Europeans are going to form a STATE, that will respect all its citizens.
