No, I don't hate any National Rugby team. Though I love them all I always support a NH team playing against a SH team.

The only "players" I almost invariably dislike are the SH referees, even when they are refereeing games between SH teams.

    Non mais !

    • Tamerlin really dislikes SH refs you know. Of course he is quite right - they are generally appalling for, as the laws of the game are very clear on, there is no interpretation - you are inside the laws or you are outside them.

Every time a ref ignores a law he is technically in the wrong. SH refs ignore more laws. It's simple maths.

Of course I learnt long ago that this is a dead duck to argue with SH fans - 'interpretation' is some kind of holy grail to you?

There is a fascinating reaction to the streaker nonsense at Planet rugby here

It includes amongst other things an Aussie having a go at, well, Aussies. Don't you have that copyrighted Finbar?

Note to self - Caligastia and Havak hate Wallabies
It is a more entertaining game when it goes down to the wire, but it hardly proves Wallaby dominance does it?

I dont hate Wallabies, I just dont love them.

Watch out for Jason Robinson though – faster than Cullen if not yet quite the same rounded player.
Robinson's skills are impressive, with a couple more players like him in the backs England will beat SH teams on a more regular basis.

Well at the risk of upsetting Neostar and Finbar Twickenham is not a happy place for the Wallabies. The only time they have won there in a decade it took a very dubious last minute penalty (1998) – sound familiar at all?

I took a look at that link you provided to reactions to the streakers, and I think this guy brought up an interesting point...

Maybe John O'Neill should apologize. He was bashing NZ when some kid tried to tackle Gregan in Roturua. I can't believe the ARU does not have a problem about vodafone's involvement? Imagine what O'Neill would have done if it happened in New Zealand? The incident might have cost us three points. We'll get our revenge by winning the Tri-Nations."

Think all those sorts of rankings - even the cricket ones - are faintly ludicrous, m'self. They prove nothing except that the system is flawed. I mean, even the WRC only proves a point at a particular moment in time. Things can change so rapidly.

Some times you simply have to accept the opposition gets it right. Whether they did Saturday is debatable. I am worried that sometimes when your boys go in with a lead they relax too much – believing their own press a little too much maybe?
Take your point that it can be the oppo lifting. Obviously. I don't think that was necessarily the case on Saturday. Suspect you're right that it's a matter of relaxing. The intensity drops. I'll leave your last notion alone.

In actual fact they were ex-communicated after handing out all those free hats and scarves last year to Aussies too tight to buy their own.
I'm actually surprised Vodaphone's still in business with the way telcos around the world have borrowed themselves into oblivion.

But they simply are not as good as your media tries to make you believe as that bubble needs pricking IMO.
          Only time will tell.

England may have been a joke to SH teams in the past
Where on earth do you get this twaddle?

What bothers me in all this is Finbar put it more rationally than me in his post following yours –
Absolutely! You succumbed to NeoStar-ism, if I may be so bold.

Heh I’ve been trying really hard to be good!
You have too. I'm going to have to take NeoStar aside and explain the two simple facts of thread life to him:

          1. Never, never, never ever give Havak an opening to mention England or the Tigers or he'll drive a loaded lorry through it.

          2. Never, never, never ever break rule #1.

" ... and the following morning I should see the Boks wallop the Wallabies again?" - Havak

          • Surely he is not suggesting the ARU have double standards One rule for them - another rule for everyone else?

Despite that, Tamerlin, I'm still willing to lend you some Civ Gold. And at a very low rate of interest, especially pour mon professeur français.

Ooops! I forgot! The following is for NeoStar's eyes only, Havak, so kindly avert yours? Thanks muchly -

                  3. Never, never, never ever get into a debate with Havak about referees for he will invariably be wrong. At length.

                  4. As will Tamerlin, though he's very, very kind to paysans étrangers who murder his beautiful language in front of his poor, sad, disbelieving eyes.

Yeah well, it doesn't take a lot of common sense to agree with those at the top of that page.

Pity – but you were ever the cool wise head in the thread.

I'm actually surprised Vodaphone's still in business with the way telcos around the world have borrowed themselves into oblivion.
And in their case more so because they are (or recently were) shirt sponsors of the English cricket team too. How about that for poor judgement?

                    Only time will tell.
Well that’s true of course – but my point is still valid. I feared nothing I saw Saturday in any great measure. But then I am an optimist in some ways

Where on earth do you get this twaddle?
Fox sports mainly. What, you mean they aren’t representative?

Absolutely! You succumbed to NeoStar-ism, if I may be so bold.
Like you need my permission. Even worse, you have a point.

Even more important now that you and NeoStar are going at each other like a rabid English Rose and a feral wallaby.

That paragraph has been cut and pasted into my Scrapbook for retrieval around the end of the year.

Now it's 3.25pm, Havak, and time you got back to work!
