Why would showing "tissue" be obscene?

I would consider it obscene to show, for instance, a graphic picture of a severed hand in a public place. I find myself physically revolted by graphic depictions of human tissue (which a fetus is, BTW) which has died.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

Protest all you want Lincoln. Ignore the fact that said operation is almost never performed on a "healthy, viable" fetus, and if so is invariably done out of concern for the mother's health.
Anyway, back to the main question of thread, I'm pretty disgusted (though not in the least bit surprised) that this is even a debate. Yes, of course they should be allowed to protest. Christ on a bicycle, this is America! They should absolutely, without equivocation nor exception, be allowed to protest on public property.

(this is one of my pet peeves... I never understood how thinking 17 year olds can be hot equates with pedohilia...But that is a different story)"I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!

I find the following operation that is performed on a healthy viable infant to be obscene. Should I be able to protest this?
On the other hand, the way the text is formulated is also disgusting in its own way. It reminds me the propaganda of the 40's, with "the Jew" or "the Bolchevik". Here we have "the abortionist".
That can be clearly considered as "hate speech".Science without conscience is the doom of the soul.

This all reminds me of "Citizen Ruth"
Other than that, of course they should be allowed to protest. America claims to be a democracy, right?
But I think it´s sad that people (ie religious right-wing nuts) have such a double standard. They question the womans right to her own body when more often than not they are rabid defenders of the individuals rights in other fields.
And even more scaring is the fact that these people more often than not defend the death penalty...

Kamrat X the question is does that dna glob have a right to life. Does it have the right to form it's own opinions given the chance to mature.
As far as the death penalty goes and eye for an eye and all that spunk.
As far as the rights of a womans body? I'll lose my figure so I will abort the child? Is this the arguement? I hope not.
As far as stereotyping goes heh sure a lot going on...“The Communist Manifesto was correct…but…we see the privileges of the capitalist bourgeoisie yielding…to democratic organizations…In my judgment…success lies in a steady [peaceful] advance…[rather]…than in…a catastrophic crash."Eduard Bernstein
