"And there will be strange events in the skies--signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And down here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. The courage of many people will falter because of the fearful fate they see coming upon the earth, because the stability of the very heavens will be broken up. Then everyone will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand straight and look up, for your salvation is near!" --Luke 21:25-28
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. --1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

That is so extremist. I could tell you the same thing, but I'm not gonna. All you wanna do is persecute Christians. That is so sad.
So then I want to persecute...MYSELF?
I'm very Christian. The differance is I don't force my beliefs on others.

I am also curious on how Cloud9 feels about Narnia. And Brave New World, one of my favourite books.
P.S. I can't WAIT until Cloud9 of a Christian Fundie gets a hold of the 'his dark materials' trilogy! The humans have a war with heaven, and the Church is an evil dictatorship that still kills and now abducts children for Nazi-style experiments! Cloud9, PLEASE read them (the first one is called the northern lights or the golden compass), I would very much enjoy hearing your viewpoint on these, another three of my favourites.
I covered these in my post above. As I pointed out the authors of "Narnia", "Brave New World", and "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy were influential Christian apologists at Oxford.

I am a Christian, but I don't have a problem with people reading Harry Potter. I don't know of any real evidence that shows that Harry Potter turns people away from Christianity.

Oh no, that is totally immoral. But I bet you'd burn Christians at the stake.
No, I prefer the Roman tradition of throwing them to the lions. Boy, those were the good old days. . . sigh.

No persecution of christians here, just criticizing extremeists, the likes of which give the religion a bad name.
Oh yeah, and is that to say that atheist and agnostic extremists are to be persecuted as well. Well, maybe not, but that's what I'm implying.

Cloud9,
I have a question. Honestly, Have you actually read any of the Harry Potter books, which ones?
I've only read the Sorceror's Stone, but it seems to me that even the author doesn't take the material very seriously, in fact there's alot of subtle humor in the story. In alot of ways, it sort of reminds me of Men in Black, except instead of there being a conspiracy to cover up the existence of aliens, it's rather a conspiracy to cover up the existence of magic.
If the author herself doesn't take herself too seriously, how in world would you expect the readers to take the story seriously?

That's why I was saying I was also curious. I more or less reposted your question because Cloud9 hadn't answered. Come on Cloudy!
Like I said earlier in this thread, I have been out partying and having a good time, celebrating the fourth of July, that is.
Many of you have asked me to look into certain things and give my opinion of certain things, but I am overwhelmed with all the requests. Give me some time to respond, please.
