    Count your blessings

    [if I were dictator]

I would implant microchips into people for identification and tracking purposes. Fingerprinting seems like an easy acceptable form when compared to what I'd do.

When I journey to USA, I meet some drastic controls :
      - I had to answer question about my religion my politics belief, my eventual illness, my sexual orientation , my motivation ("Do you project to kill the President", "Are you a Terrorist ?").

They searched in mu baggages if I had any food, any cheese or any pets.

And they checked my Passport. They didn't notice that therewas an error about my sex on my password (my passport is a true passport but the guy at the office made a mistake when editing it).

My sex was femal on my passport . And at this time it was obvious that I was male. By they didn't notice it.

I journeyed in USA with a wrong passport without problems.

USA don't need more controls, but clever controls.

        Well put, Viceroy.

        Sava, you worry me.

Zobo, yeah, the INS needed a kick in the ass and they got it.

"Middle Eastern visitors being treated badly?"

Too bad! As usual, a few rotten apples ruin the whole barrel. Let's not allow one tainted barrel destroy a whole crop (i.e., time to start sifting).

I visited US last year, on the plane we were handed a visa waiver on the plane shortly before landing.
Here is the questions we had to answer:

"Do any of the following apply to you? (Answer Yes or No)

A: Do you have a communicable disease; physical or mental disorder; or are you a drug abuser or addict?

B: Have you ever been arrested or convicted for an offense or crime involving moral turpitude or a violation related to a controlled substance; or been arrested or convicted for two or more offenses for which the aggregate sentence to confinement was five years or more; or been a controlled substance trafficker; or are you seeking entry to engage in criminal or immoral activities?

C: Have you ever been or are you now involved in espionage or sabotage; or in terrorist activities; or genocide; or between 1933 and 1945 were you involved, in any way, in persecutions associated with Nazi Germany or its allies?

D: Are you seeking to work in the US; or been previously removed from the United States; or procured or attempted to procure a visa or entry into the US by fraud or misrepresentation?

E: Have you ever detained, retained or withheld custody of a child from a US citizen granted custody of the child?

F: Have you ever been denied a US visa or entry into the US or had a US visa cancelled? If yes, when? _______ where? _______

G: Have you ever asserted immunity from prosecution?

IMPORTANT: If you answered "Yes" to any of the above, please contact the American Embassy BEFORE you travel to the US since you may be refused admission into the United States."

Some of the questions (especially C) are just hilarious! I assume there is some kind of legal or insurance issues behind these questions, right? I mean, they can't possibly expect people to answer "Yes, I am involved in genocide"

Yes, africanized bees are being stigmatized by the popular press as "killers". This has to stop. Ashcroft must protect the rights of africanized bees.

Combat Ingrid, Yes i had to do that too when i visited US. It also had a question something about terrorists.. like 'are you a terrorist' or something like that. I found it funny, but i didn't laugh because i was afraid to be arrested for laughing for those questions . I don't know the purpose of them.. maybe if they catch you doing something illegal, they can also sue you for lying in that too.

                  Yeah, right.

"maybe if they catch you doing something illegal, they can also sue you for lying in that too."

Yep. It's mainly a technicality arranged before hand in order for them to more easily deport you or prosecute you, if they want.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Many of you miss the essential point.

Laws must be applied equally to all, or they mean nothing.

ALL foriegn nationals should be fingerprinted, or none at all.
