Hierro has wounded many player many times

He is one the best defenders of Spain, but he is getting sometime a little violent in his last years...

                  • I hope so as well. our clubs have been increasingly successfull in the last years, peaking with this season. Hapoel Tel Aviv has reached the quarter finals of the UEFA cup. half of our national squad plays abroad. But we always get Austria and Spain for some reason. we're a bit better than Austria, but qualifying from second place means play-offs with another team . three years ago we got our asses handed to us on a plate by denmark.

                      • Had a bit too much to drink Mercator?

                        Nope:
                        1. In contrast with everybody else here, I'm not a football expert (or pretend to be one). Outside of the World Cup, or Euro Cup football hardly interests me at all.
                        2. There are always surprises, and as I'm always for the underdogs, I simply hope there will be plenty of surprises.
3a. I felt like annoying Saint Marcus
3b. Just a little wishfull analysis...

France has failed to impress me of late. They lost to Belgium 2-1 and they only managed a meager win of 3-2 over South Korea. If that's the team you're talking about, it doesn't look very good.

                          • France are ten thousand miles from home. Don't expect as much out of them as last time. Semi-finals, maybe.

As for the first round, I'm picking Croatia to be eliminated and one of Mexico or Ecuador to qualify from that group.
Everything changes, but nothing is truly lost.

                            • Every team with any possiblity at all to reach the semi-finals are ten thousand miles from home, give or take a few thousand. That will hardly change France's chances. It's the same for everybody.

This is so bizarre! I'm actually starting to get excited about the WC! Now that Holland is not in, I'm hoping for an African surprise!
Ánd I hope for a game between the USA and Saudi Arabia. Does anybody remember how Iran beat the USA 4 years ago? ROFLMAO back then!
