    • I cannot accept your predictions for the world champion, top scorer, the winner of group A and France-Senegal because they had to be made before the first match. I'll put all your other predictions in my spreadsheet.

          • I'd rather lose the points and have Senegal win. YAY!

                  • Darn. I predicted 1-1 for the opening match.

Something is very wrong here. Opening matches always end with a draw. Sepp Blatter probably fixed the game, thereby defying the natural laws, including the unified theory of everything World Cuppy.

                      Not the last three.

                      1998: Brazil beat Scotland
                      1994: Germany beat Bolivia
                      1990: Cameroon beat Argentina.

                      • Despite being a favourite we only beat Bolivia 1-0 BTW. And it was the beginning of the German team's downfall :Q:

                        • The great German downfall that included a win at Euro 96? Germany were still a top team at that tornament, it was France 98's poor showing that started the slide IMHO, once Klinsmann was no longer selected/retired it was downhill all the way.

                          • We were kicked in the quarters in 94 and 98. So we didn't suck worse in 98 than we did in 94. 96 was good though. in 2000, we sucked again, and hopefully we won't in 2002. We certainly won't in 2006.

                            • Great in 2006? Hmm, I'm sceptical. The only upcoming talent I can think of is Deisler. Home advantage will help though.

Plus, we're talking 4 years. 17 year olds of now might be the important players then.
