        that's a joke right? France for one has very good relations with the Arab(/north african) world (Iraq, Algeria, Morroco, etc).

              That's right we've got very good relations with a bunch of African and Arab countries, but you still ended by citing two (Algeria and Iraq) which are among the few we have tense relations with

                Well, I just finished reading a rather interesting book on the Luftwaffe, which included some notes on Germany's production throughout WWII. Despite constant bombing raids by the US and the British, German industrial production actually increased as the war went on. More tanks, more planes, more guns.

                A Tomahawk cruise missile costs about $1,000,000 to build and deliver, if not more. Assuming a 500 kg warhead, it would take 2000 of these missiles to deliver as much explosive as the USAF and RAF were dumping on Germany, per day, in WWII from 1943-5.

                I doubt the US government could afford this type of bombardment for long!

                  Nah, they hate the US much more. Why do you think are all the terrorist atacks against the US + Embassys?
                  It would be much easier to atack some random important target in Europe.

                  From where did the Iraqis buy there weapons? - France
                  Where get the turkish their panzers? - Germany
                  What was the big Scandal a couple years ago again? Oh yes some corruption stuff about german weapons sells to Iran.
                  Who complains loud about Israel?

                      J'aimerais bien mais la verite ce qu'il est un peu difficile maintenant

                      quand on n'a pas de rapport actif avec la langue (parce que il n'y a pas la neccessite de la pratiquer)...

                        It would be much easier to atack some random important target in Europe.


                        It wouldn't have near the worldwide impact though. The US is a world media capital which speeds the delivery of your message.

                                "o hélios anafaïnétai" (quite hard with a standard font, I suppose it would be o hlios anafainhtai if the font works well ).
