How to Invade the US/Europe ?

You have just been elected President of the US or EU (depending on which you fancy) .. you plan to conquer the evil US/EU (delete as applicable) .. where do you start ?? what would be your overall plan ??

Assume also that any Nuclear strike would receive instant response .. so conventional only.. state your major targets, points for troop invasions etc ..

If I were the U.S., I would use our bountiful supply of cruise missiles until it was possible to land without taking heavy losses.

I'm not really sure what Europe has that we don't, and vice versa, so it's probably not a good thing I'm not in charge.

But with countries/continents of this size, it's pretty much impossible to really conquer them, unless somebody really lost the ball.

For Europe to invade the US, several things are needed.

1. Time to build up the EUs defence forces.
2. Time to improve sea and airport facilities in Iceland and Greenland.
3. Getting Canada to form an alliance with the EU against the US.

In other words, unlikely.

Though if this all should happen, it may be possible to tranport troops and material from the EU (via Iceland and Greenland) to Canada, and from there invade the Mid West.

All in all, close to impossible

For the US to invade the EU it's just as impossible.

1. the US will need to build up it's forces (since they are vastly outnumbered).
2. They have to get Russia to join the US in an alliance against the EU.

All just as unlikely.

Ohh of course, in reality, there would be no reason for us to ever fight .. but I guess its like brothers wondering what they would do if an enemy the same size attacked ..

If I was the US, id go for UK/Germany .. simply cos they are the economic powers of the EU .. After trashing as much industry in Germany, and Commerce in the UK , id land my troops on mass in the UK .. simply cos, they have the most profesional army, the people speak the same language and will be easier to control/win over .. and you could install a conservative government who'd support your war on Europe

From there, you have a base ready to attack the rest of Europe..

As for the EU attacking the US .. well your faced with two sides of the fence .. East and West coast .. as Europe is off the East coast, this seems the most likely place to go .. destroy any naval installations along the east coast, take Panama to delay the West coast fleets , and hit New England and surrounding area's hard .. Land seperate troop divisions in Canada, Florida and pinser Washington DC

Seriously though, they are a great weapon. They're a b!tch to spot, they're pretty good at doing damage, and we don't lose any men by sending them in.

And how exactly would you even be able to come close to Germany? Do you even know where Germany is?

And is there a reason why Europe wouldn't do the exact same thing? And how would you hit places in, say, Austria?

And you still don't understand how BIG the EU is. Even with 10 times the number of cruise missiles you have now, it wouldn't make a significant impact. You will need to send aircraft and troops in yourself to make a real difference.

I don't believe Europe is at our level of missile technology, and with a R&D focus on the war, probably never would be.

I do understand how big Europe is, but I think that missile barrages aimed at critical military targets would definitely make things easier on our troops, even though there are so many targets.

I believe our navy is more than capable of bringing the missiles to Austria, particularly our submarines.

We already invaded the US - with Mercedes, VW and BMW. But those evil Americans had a combined Hollywood-Microprose-Hamburger defense, so our attack was broken up. Finally we made peace, and agreed to place peacekeepers in each country. The German force consists of VW New Beetle armoured cars, while the Americans send Win XP Packages to Germany to control our communications...

Smart weapons only help to avoid collatoral damage. In military terms, carpet bombing is much more effective. And in such a war as this it will be needed. Also, Europe does have cruise missiles.

And also note that the Americans won't have access to the mediterian, and not the North Sea and Baltic either. So from where exactly do you want to launch Cruise Missiles headed for Austria or south Germany?
