Originally posted by GP I don't want to be too crude here. Of course there are people at MBA school who have great quant backgrounds. There are alos lots of useful things that one can do without a quant background. And there are liberal arts students that can handle quant fine. But...for an example...the most hard core derivatives class at Kellogg is taught without calculus. This boggles the mind....

I think he means quaint... which basically means 'chamingly odd'.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Try telling that to the geology 'geeks'.
You mean 'Rocks for Jocks'?
At least that is what it is refered to at Rutgers.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Nope... most people also consider the entire Geology major to be 'Rocks for Jocks'.
And I've never hear of 'Physics for Poets'.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Yeah, its too beneath us. We like to use our minds and not go 'hammer-swinging'. Oh well, maybe, if these Geology majors are good enough, we might hire them in the future.

General Powell was born in New York City on April 5, 1937, and was raised in the South Bronx. His parents, Luther and Maud Powell, immigrated to the United States from Jamaica. General Powell was educated in the New York City Public Schools, graduating from Morris High School and the City College of New York (CCNY), where he earned a bachelor's degree in geology. He also participated in ROTC at CCNY and received a commission as an Army second lieutenant upon graduation in June 1958. His further academic achievements include a Master of Business Administration Degree from George Washington University. No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Yep...some of them might be hired in the future...
Maybe, if they are decent enough.
Though it is amusing that ROTC people tend to go through geology... since they basically get trained on what they want to do in the military.. geology is just something to take until they actually get the real training.
