So you agree that in the case of an accidental pregnancy that the father is equally responsible for taking care of the child if the mother decides to have it?
ABSOLUTLY!!!!!
Then why do you keep replying to my posts as if I am in favor of sole custody? I am in favor of both parents having custody. We agree dammit!!!

Said it was my last post, but I suppose I'll make an exception, this is getting too ridiculous.
Its not a foregone conclusion that the child will suffer.
I did not said that. What I said is that if there is an abortion, the child won't suffer as he will never exist.
The parents can decide to take responsibility for the life they created and do the best they can to raise it.
If they use contraceptive and agreed to not have a child, I don't see why they should feel responsible in case of unwanted pregnancy.
Oh, perhaps that you're the kind of people who consider that when someone die of a heart attack, he's to blame ?
The mother and child will definitely suffer financial hardship (unless they are rich) if the father doesnt contribute.
He did not wanted to keep the child. She wanted to. It's her choice, it's up to her to find the money.
I don't see why he should be considered responsible for her own decisions.
Thats a terribly selfish attitude.
What is terribly selfish is to decide to keep a child against his best interest, against the will of his father, offering the child a world where his father did not wanted him and where he will be a burden for this very father.
You dont think its better to minimise the suffering for all involved? How ridiculous.
What's ridiculous is that considering enforcing a man to be a father against his will and giving birth to a child whose will be deprived of his father, whose will know he has been unwanted, and who will fee he's a burden, is considered "minimizing the suffering for all".
She didnt choose to be pregnant any more than the man if they took the proper precautions, so what you saying is that if she gets pregnant its HER problem. You must be a real unfeeling bastard.
Reading only what you WANT to read hu ?
Now, I will repeat it slowly so you can understand : she did not wanted to be pregnant more than the man. But she wanted to keep the baby while the man did not want. She is responsible for THIS decision.
You understand or I have to tell it again ?
Oh, and about being a bastard...
1) I can see that your twisted notions of responsability bring you to stupid statements.
2) I consider that forcing someone to become a parent against his will, breaking an agreement (not having child) and enforcing your own decision over two other people FOR LIFE (the future child and the father) is more acting like a selfish unfeeling bastard than enforcing your decision over one people (the woman, NO I don't consider that the child is a person until he's got a nervous system) for a short period of time.
Well, and a little sum up of your views : two people agreed to have sex and that they won't have a child. Both are victim of an accident.
Then they are hold responsible for the accident (great idea, I will think about it when I walk in a forest, if a tree fall on me it's my fault, I should not have been here, ok).
Now, the woman has the power to decide if she keep the child or no, effectively deciding for her, for the future baby, and for the man. The man has nothing to say about the decision of the woman : perhaps that he wants to keep the baby while she does not want ? Well, she aborts.
Perhaps that he doesn't want the baby whils she want to keep him ? Well, she keeps him.
Then, as she was the one making the final decision, you come to the man and tell him : you're responsible of this decision, now pay.
Sure, sure...
Final word : abortion and pregnancy are serious things. They should be discussed lengthly between the parents, and not took lightly. Abortion is nothing trivial, and somewhat traumatic. Raising a child is very important, and bear huge responsabilities. Nobody should be forced in any way about these two issues, so I say : the woman should have the final word about abortion (hey, it's HER body after all). Now that she took this decision, the man should have the final word about if he will have to support her and the child (he did not had the choice about abortion or not, so he does not have to be responsible of this decision of abortion).
And now MY final words : this is my LAST message on this thread. Answer it, don't answer it, I don't care, I won't respond anymore. This discussion is making me really nauseous.
So long.
