BTW when I was in Grade 9 me and my friends kept making off-colour jokes about NAMBLA until we were sent to the Principal's office....

(i.e., so-and-so is the NAMBLA posterboy, just got back from a NAMBLA meeting did you? Bum hurt?)

If they actually do anything - throw them in jail faster than you can say "exploitation"! In fact, I'd take pretty much any valid reason to get these people bars.

However, some people seem to have a strange view of the meaning of "free speach" and "free association". These mean that you can hang with anyone wou want and say whatever you want. "These people are advocating something illegal" is very, very, VERY different than "these people are doing something illegal".

It doesn't matter what I think most of them do. It only matters to a parent that because of this group, someone might do it.

And I know parents who think that we shouldn't live under a fascist state. What's your point?

Avocating cheating on their taxes, I would still say who cares. But because of the nature of the subject what might happen means a whole hell of a lot to some people. It doesn't seem to bother you.

No, but people in NAMBLA are pedophiles, and they do act out their goals. Do some research.

The organization doesn't, regardless of what individual memeber do. Get some sense.

Some people in the GOP are probably pedophiles. Does that mean we should criminalize the GOP?

Actually, they do. Thailand is a popular vacation spot among the groups members.

I didn't assert that individual members aren't pedophiles, just that being in NAMBLA doesn't imply acting on one's pedophilia (that acting on pedophilia isn't the point of the organization).

Well.....its disgusting. Only one solution for convicted pedaphiles. Castration. Thats right...in some states ; they do this to repeat offenders. It should be first strike your out.

On the original subject, I think that the government should keep its nose out of free speech. Advocating a change in the law is and should remain legal. Advocating illegal acts is actually not legal where I'm from (nor is it in the States, IIRC); I would therefore hazard a guess that NAMBLA does not actually advocate performing illegal acts, since if they did then they would probably have been shut down by now.

depends how rape is defined. Ive had a few beers. Stumbled around with a girl (not uunderage of course) ; and did my thing. And never saw her again. Is that rape? I dont think so....

I think thats a slippery slope. There would need to be guidelines. Age..and proof it was forced. I dont want a 14 year having his nuts cut out cause he and his nieghbor friend decided to play around with daddys liqour stash and had sex and the girl is only a few months younger.
