Actually, they do. Thailand is a popular vacation spot among the groups members.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio
No it isn't, not at all. I think marijuana should be legalized. But I'm not ACTING upon it. Sure, I'll say all I want about it being legalized, but I don't do it, no matter how much I want to. Same goes for NAMBLA. They want to see sex with children as young as 8 legalized. I can bet that a lot of them haven't done that, no more than a lot of men haven't raped women. Its the same thing.
Like I said above. If you want to advocate smoking pot, fine with me. I dont' care one bit. But you say that you want to make it legal to have sex with children as low as 8 then you and me are going to have a problem. What you advocate doing to yourself dosen't concern me, but what you advocate doing to a kid of mine concerns me a whole hell of a lot. Can you see the difference?
Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh
It is their opinion and no matter how much we dispise, hate, and want to destroy it, we can't, because this is such a great country. Their freedom of speech protects our freedom of speech.
Including your freedom to say that they shouldn't get this freedom. You can say that, and will be protected, but once you try to violate their freedom, that's when you will be stopped. Same as them.

Any member of NAMBLA deserves to burn in hell, and every hour receive an extremely large pineapple shoved up their a$$. (ala "Little Nicky) then again some of those sick b$$***** might enjoy it.
That's because the Germans ****ed up and the country was taken over by a ****ing gutless ***** and his jackass compadres (I would have sworn more, but I don't want to be banned.)
You made a slight historical error. These laws were made after 1945 to have a better move against criminals/political radicals.
Even if pedophilia were legal(ized) it still ruins the life of children. And in this case, the law itself would be a crime.
To the (not so really good) other examples: Drugs wreck the life of the user and not (directly) somebody else's (I think the use of drugs is not a crime in Germany, only trading or possessing. But I'm neither a lawyer nor a drug user except of wine and beer, so I really don't bother). The weapon fans want to legalize owning guns. This alone doesn't do harm to anybody. If they would promote the free use of guns agains anybody, they were indeed criminals in the same sense as the Nambla guys. And in the very liberal US laws regarding possession of guns I see one (but not the only) reason for the considerably more shootings at US schools, compared to Europe.
Why doing it the easy way if it is possible to do it complicated?
Any sex with a minor ( at least under 15) can be construed as forced, because they can be said not to fully comprhend the act. That is why there are age of consent laws. Also, there is a fundamental difference between Marijuana groups, the NRA, and NAMBLA. NRA is a group dedicated to defending an already esyablished 2nd amendment right. Marijuana groups advocate the legalization of a drug that many people feel is on the same level as alcohol. People aren't forced to smoke weed against their wills, and it seems to be more of a personal decision. NAMBLA advocates pedophilia and statutory rape as a right of citizens. They act out their desires (look at the case of the Catholic priest, or type NAMBLA in Yahoo). Would you advocate the rights of a group that actively advocates raping Women, and had members who regularly did so? I think NAMBLA's speech is equivalent to yelling "fire" in a crowded room. Therefore, IMO, NAMBLA should not have the right to speak. Others can disagree. I think that it is up for the U.S. Surpreme court to decide.
Well put. I don't think it is the intention of the NRA to arm 8 year olds, nor is it the intention of the NORML to have children smoking pot and watching Sesame Street.
The thing I find intrguing about NAMBLA is that there is no counter group representing man/girl love. How come? Why is the reaction to this kind of pedophilia some how more socially unaccepted (as it appears to be)?
Oh, and I thought I'd add this little tid bit for all you lefties out there -- Good ole' Uncle Allen Ginsberg was a dues paying member of NAMBLA. Not that he wasn't a gifted poet...
I have to agree with Ramo et. all here. It is a political action group... a lobbying organization. As long as they do not act upon their desires, an individual in the club should not be thrown in jail for participation in said club, and the club should be allowed to exist. Called free speech, even for things that are currently illegal.

The problem with them is THEY DO act upon their desires. They're proud of it! Read their literature. Type NAMBLA into Yahoo to find out more. NAMBLA is not just another political lobbying group.

Just as morally wrong as an organization that would be called North American Man Girl Love Association.
I agree 100%.

How do you all think this ties into the way the Catholic Church reacted to the recent scandal.
Any Priest that is found to be a member of NAMBLA, or an organization like it, should atoumatically be removed from the priesthood and kicked out of the church. Pedophiles have no right to be in such positions of dignity and power.
