I only know of one peace treaty, signed in 1979. Cease fires don't count.
And why not? Demands were placed on countries through cease fires. After all, technically the Korean War wasn't ended by peace treaties, but cease fires, and territory was legally exchanged.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

As for the cease fires, why should Israel have given the Arab powers anything in return for an end to a war Israel was winning? Soviet and American pressure forced Israel to make peace in '67 and '73, not any action by outclassed Arab forces. Israel did the right thing by refusing to make any concessions to Arab powers who still refused to recognize Israel's right to exist. Why should they have acted any differently?KH FOR OWNER!

Like I said... Israel needs to be embarassed in a fight. The arrogance will not be as pronounced.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

He probably wants the US to do it for the Arabs.
We should have done it after the Liberty disaster. But, I digress.I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

Um... no... if Israel gets beaten, they they have to suffer a humilating peace accord, just like the Arabs had to. As my g/f says, Israel needs to lose a war. Not badly, but just beaten.. and forced to make peace.
Never beat a man but leave him in a postion when he knows he should have one. That's what caused WW2. (Was Germany occupied after WW1? No. They were beaten, but not 'badly")Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

And eygpt has the biggest mouth in the arab world. Its the only units actually trained and equipped bye US forces. They have somthing like 700 abrams and pattons and lotsa F-16's, Bradleys TOW's...etc. Eygpt would really be tough for Israel. But fat chance of the two ever fighting another war.
and ive said my piece. see you all thursday

Some on this thread acting as if Le Pen or other rightists are a threat to democracy is nauseating. Is that the best you can do when arguing against what he stands for?
It's the same leftist intellectually lazy attitude that slagged Austria for allowing Haider into the government.I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
