Neo-Nazism and Muslim fundamentalism. What do you think?
German neo-Nazis, some wearing checkered Palestinian headscarves, rejoiced at street demonstrations while burning an American flag.
I stopped reading at this point.
Those teens are not Neo Nazis, they're lefties.
If a German teen is anti-American, he's usually some sort of punk, anarcho, whatever. And "pali scarves" are just a popular piece of clothing amongst them. That source loses EVERY credibility by calling anarchos "German Neo Nazi teens or sth... absolutely unbelievable. Thanks for the link, I've got to print that some day and show it to some punk friends of mine, they'll laugh their ass off.... and only feel confirmed in their aversion against the US

Not such a poor allusion. Whilst it's true that many Nazis despise the liberalism of the coasts and cities, more rural districts (even states) can seem borderline fascist (from over here, anyway).
Not forgetting the US is rather right-wing compared to Europe, especially so from a European's perspective.

BTW, Nazis tend to be (ultra-)conservative () and therefore pro-US, but what the heck
...I disagree. There are Neonazis in Germany who are very anti US. And yes, some of them welcomed the 9/11 attacks, like the mentioned NPD activist. The article is correct at this point.
That is a strange situation, those neonazis - usually people who are normally ultra nationalist and against "inferior" races (such as Arabs), have sympathies for Arab terrorists, because both groups are anti US and anti Jewish.
It absolutely doesn't matter whether or not Nazis are pro US or not. As a matter of fact, people wearing those scarves are lefties, and no German Nazi would ever do that!
It's funny you make the comparison between Islam and Nazism. One of Hitler's plans was to unite Japan and Germany through a land link in the Middle East. Germany supported the Albanians (Muslim) against the Serbs. Germany also supported Egypt (Muslim) against Britain in North Africa.
Muslims and Nazis are both ultra-conservatives. It's ironic how things get better the closer to the right you get.

Nazis and the right wing share many of the same ideas, it wasn't a bad comparison. It's just that not all of America is right wing.
That's the idea of it.
And I agree with Provost.
You see? Lefties - anti US. Righties - pro US.
While I'm not "anti US" and Nazis are not "right" in the classical sense, the scheme applies.
Our foreign minister used to be a street leftie and is now confronted with his past. BTW, I find it a shame how BeBro can actually speak against my points, he should know what's going on here as well as me. And I find it a laugh how Dal tries to tell me what's going on here. Say Dal, what am I thinking right now? Are you sure you don't know it better than I do?
Neo-nazies are usually quite confused persons. "Normal" people are often not consistent so those what is one to expect? There's a loonie for every taste so a journalist can always find what he/she wants for his/her aticle.

Not correct in this generalization. I can´t believe that you simply ignore the given example (Mahler, NPD), it was extensively covered in German media too. And I have also personal experiences with neonazis here...
