You're going to piss on Arafat's compound for weeks? I guess you're trying to flood him out of the country. A novel idea.

According the Russian TV, Arafat himself shoots on IDF soldiers.

A second Israeli soldier was killed in Rammalah, two more were lightly injured.

If a camera catches Arafat dying while defending himself against Israelis the hawks amongst the Pal's will get a very nice martyr indeed...

Whenever Arafat dies it's going to be a big problem for Israel. Even if he dies of a heart attack or chokes on a pretzel people will assume the Mossad did it and react accordingly.

True, but still... It would be a hell of a lot worse, at least in a longer perspective. And what about explaining the killing of a peoples leader to the international community?

Yeah, I know. I was just making an observation.

I've been trying to think of a good fate for Arafat. Maybe send him to Jordan--I'm sure they still remember him there and will give him the welcome he deserves.

At night, the Palestinian gunman will come out. Suppoedly, there is a new anti-tank weapon running around. Something about the IDF finding a stash in the compound.

Y'all are shooting yourselves in the foot.

Arafat's a bastard, but he's a veritable moderate in comparison to the other major elements of power in Palestinian society, namely the terrorist groups. Undermine him, and don't be surprised to see the Hamas or the Islamic Jihad filling the power vacuum.

I agree with Ramo a bit. If you take out the PA, wont the west bank turn into a Somalia?

Not nessecarily, since after all the Palestinian Authority is the coordinating element between the groups.
But don't worry. They say they aren't going to take it out.
They are just going to take out the people responsible for terror; not many will remain...

What I've been saying all along (stop agreeing with me Ramo ).

After Arafat the 'scary groups' (ie, Hamas and Islamic Jihad) can sit on the throne. And then the terrorist bombings will be insufferable.
