But it's still a European country...
paiktis22 wanted to be challenged about European capitals
Why doing it the easy way if it is possible to do it complicated?

Montana and Kansas...dammit. Should be fairly easy ones, but just didn't spring to mind.

I learned about the American expansion westward throughout in both primary and secondary school, and nothing else.

Mind you, playing the 'Wagons West' game on the computers was a real skive.

Right. The capitals of European countries are European capitals...even if stuck in other continents....

Anyway. I know Ankarra is in Asia.

This is just me playing with Paiktis reagarding Turkey being part of EU in future or not...

                          • "Is DanS a statehoods righter? For DC??"

No. I'm one of the few, however. I think it would make DC congressional offices more valuable than other congressional offices, among other things. The founding fathers knew what they were doing, as they had many European examples to guide them (in this case, what not to do), although it does sometimes create absurdities, like the former Senator from Tennessee being a Washingtonian in practice, heart, and actuality. Washingtonians know the rules when they move here and it's a special circumstance. There are many compensations.

I view the "Taxation Without Representation" license plates that are given out de rigeur as a misappropriation of my tax dollars for political speech.

I'm all for Puerto Rican statehood, if they ultimately vote for it. I think that leaves only a few territories, none of which are really large enough to be called states, even if glommed together in some fashion.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
