So I was wondering if anybody would react to my post... it wasn't that bad was it?
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

Blankenhorn further explains: "Compared to a mother’s love, a father’s love is frequently more expectant, more instrumental, and significantly less conditional. … For the child, from the beginning, the mother’s love is an unquestioned source of comfort and the foundation of human attachment. But the father’s love is almost a bit farther away, more distant and contingent. Compared to the mother’s love, the father’s must frequently be sought after, deserved, earned through achievement."
How is a father's love less conditional if it must be "frequently be sought after, deserved, earned through achievement"?

This sociologist is contradictory. And the article invokes God.
      I refute it thus!
"Destiny! Destiny! No escaping that for me!"

No, it was full of decency, integrity, and honor.

Yeah, there's absolutely no differences between the sexes apart from body shape and organs.
First off -- you can find sociologists who have done studies that support your claim, and I can find sociologists who have done studies to support my claim.

Secondly, you're exaggrating our argument in regards to gender differences -- that is called straw fallacy.
For instance, women communicate differently from men GENERALLY - not absolutely. But the differences that do exist does mean that certain parental roles are not exclusive of the other gender.

Oh bugger off, Giancarlo. We were doing the decent thing by ignoring the fact that you're making a fool of yourself again, but if you're going to draw attention to it then you're just going to get pasted.

Go annoy your parents if you're desperate for attention.

I am not making a fool of myself... really what is your problem? You can't forget the past and move on towards the future? How am I making a fool of myself?

Take it to another thread. Every time something like this is discussed it turns into a thread about Giancarlo- due largely to your chronic attention-seeking. It's boring, Giancarlo. You're a bore.

If you want to discuss this further, don't do so here. Use PM's, or start a thread. Don't threadjack any more. Any more posts from you about your history here and you'll just become another entry on my "ignore" list, along with all the others I consider to be about as worthwhile as herpes.

So I am not allowed to discuss anything? Alright I see. Talk to you later.

And I am not threadjacking at all.

I came out by choice to my friends and was forced out to my family on different occasions.

I passionately defend homosexuality and get into heated debates about it (which recently resulted in me coming out to my entire sociology class )
