  • No, not every country uses illegal tactics. Many countries feel like playing real sports, and see the potential scandal arising from one of their athletes doping as more harmful than winning a dozen medals is beneficial. You get caught cheating, you pay the price. Your anger right now should probably be directed inwards in re the doping scandal. Lazutlina and the other Russian got to keep their medals from earlier, despite the fact that doping specialists are of the opinion that the test results from later on were sufficient physical proof that they were doped for earlier races. They caught a free ride on 4 medals (IIRC), so don't try and ***** about some of the more minor issues.

Russia's Olympic system obviously suffers from a doping problem. It's time to admit it and get down to curing it before the next games make a joke of any medals they take home.

      • My God it takes the whole of Apolyton to keep ONE (ok 2) Russian down and they still can't do it!.

        Facts: Russians got caught

Question: Is there a possibility that americans were not even checked or were warned before or if they were checked they were not reported or if they were not reported it was because they had better - undetectable drugs?

        Answer: Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes

Was there a bigger scandal than Salt Lake City?

        No.

Did the Russians ever complained before even when they were losing?

        No.

Was there a SPECIAL reason for the americans to win BIG in these games?

Yes they had been blown up by Osama Bin Laden and needed self - reassersion.

        Simple.

Of course I didn't watch anything except 2 minutes of curling but hey I can speculate can't I?

I give up. Your athletes were caught cheating, so you simply say everybody else does it, yet don't provide proof of the statement. This is my last reply to you, as it's becoming obvious that you're a Ferrous Cranus.

          • paiktis, the whole of apolyton has utterly decimated him in this "argument"; he simply restarts the discussion at his old point without acknowledging the fact that he's making baseless accusations.

Why everyone of you always point on two of our ladies who was caught? Our protest not about them, but about ostruction of our entire team.
Should I remind that not only Russian found the ref's of those games are acted unfair? KrazyHorse you have to remember the thread about USA vs. Canada women hockey final.
              Few quotes from this thread:
              by Asher:
She should have dropped the puck in the 3rd period due to the 15 second rule, but instead she pauses play and skates over to the US bench to give them a "warning".
Then they re-do the faceoff and the US scores.

Such bull****. At least we won still!
              by November Adam:
              November Adam
CANADA BEAT THE REF'S! CANADA BEATS THE REFS!

REF"S GET SILVER! oh sorry the US GET SILVER!
              by Osweld:
I believe Canada got more penalties in that game then they did in the entire competition
The ref was complete bull****. What brainchild thought of making an American ref do a US/Canada game? Seriously?
And this is not the full list, you participated in that thread and must remember it.
You see, when unfair ref's hurt Canadians, it's horrible and unfair. When the Russians saying the same, they are paranoids who sees conspiracy everywhere.

              • Yeah well the Russians still loaded themselves up with drugs, and then whined a lot. We here locals don't like druggie-whiners.

Just want to add one thing:
They made a political show from those Olympic Games.
When Olympic Games were in Soviet Union in 1980. Did anyone can said that Russians raised their flag or singed a hymn of SU on the beggining/closing ceremony? No we didn't do so. Because it's disrespect to other countries to do so. No one before Americans done so.
And I'm agreed they wanted to win very hard.

                          That's it.
It prooves that you made a political action from those Games, while it must be PURE sports events.

I would venture to say that it has never been a PURE sports event. Not even the games in roman times...

I don't know about Roman times. I've always though that Olympic Games was invented in Ancient Greece
