But would you not agree that, if you think "Jewishness" is an ethnicity, then being forced by your religion to only marry others of the same ethnicity is ridiculous?

I'm not talking about religion, but about Jewish identity.
They can all be atheists as far as i'm concerned, as long as they remember that they are the people of Israel and their connection to the land of Israel.

I don't want to be insulting. But this borders on racism. I would hope by 2050 we have more important things to concentrate on insteade of how many "pure" races are still in existance.

Is the number of jews important ? I don't think the value of a people is based on its size.

I see at least two good point in that :

1) You will have more room in your Paradise !
2) It shows that the gap between jews/non-jews is more smaller.

Now what is it!

In some other thread I said that only if your mother is a Jew, you yourself will be jewish. If only your father is jewish, you are considered not jewish. A friend of mine is jewish (lived in Israel for a few years).
He is now married a non jewish girl, and about a year ago I was dating a girl who had a jewish mother. He told me that technically his kids would not be jewish, but mine would be.

Somebody here (I think Natan), told me that isn't the case. What is it?
