I've studied Latin, but forgotten it since. Perhaps I'll learn it again in the summer, if I have nothing else to do

English, plus 3.5 yrs of German, 1 year of Spainish. I plan to continue taking German, but take Japanese instead of Spanish. I'm pretty good at picking up foreing languages.

I like languages, but I'm not sure how good I am at them. I have a few years of German, a bit of elementary school Hebrew which I've been augementing by conversing with Israelis from Apolyton on ICQ, and a bit of Arabic which no one wants to practice with me. I was in the top decile on the German exams I took, and I took the Hebrew SAT II a few years ago and got a 380. I also speak a bit of Yiddish. I think that's about 2.6 languages, but math was never my strong point either.

I speak English just fine, and I can kinda sorta mumble through French, German, and Russian (but not really well).

Yeah... about 5% of Finnish population list Swedish as their mother tongue, and about 75% (including me) are pissed off for having to learn Swedish in schools, but the government still insists us on learning it... Because of the Swedish colonization in Finland that lasted about from 1216 to 1808 most of the Swedish speaking population belongs to the upper class and they have much authority around here And still, Swedish is considered, especially by old people, as a 'fine' language, while our own Finnish is even shunned ( ) by some ...
And the thing with teaching Swedish is kinda sensitive issue around here, too...everytime someone brave politician suggests stopping teaching it, he's accused for being a racist sh*t... and more so, the 5% of the population who speak Swedish are situated in small coastal areas that make up about 5% of Finland's areal...

Well, I've found Swedish useful anyway. Of course, I would have found Russian, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Greek, Chinese, Arabic, Japanese or Estonian even more useful...
