      Man, was I sick yesturday.

Ramo: That is proven. As I said Spain has history that traces back to 5000 BC. Even if it was not a country then.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. If you're not, don't you mean she was bisexual?

Paiktis: you mean 'fado', really melancholistic (sp?) songs.

Portugues is about the coolest sounding language in the world. When Romario and Ronaldo played footbal in Holland they had the best accents, really smooth.

And about Spain. My sister lives in Granada which is one of the prettiest cities ever. Great architecture, fascinating history and offcourse: FREE TAPAS with every drink you order. That way you snack your way through dinner standing at the bar.

last february I went skiing in the Sierra Nevada. At 3400 meter you could see Africa. At night we went to all the nice bars. I rented a car and drove to a small place at the coast where my parents were on holiday. So one day you're standing in the snowwy mountains, next day you're standing at the beach.

Not to mention Barcalona and Madrid with more culture than the whole of western Europe combined.

              Spain is really cool
Well, lets just imagine my question is not hypothetical then...

You wrote 1000 years ago, not 7000 years ago. And you wrote "dating back to," not tracing back to.

Do you still wonder why your credibility has been shot to hell? You flat out lie about what you write (and do, apparantly).

Even if it was not a country then.
Spain is a nation. It was formed due to the dynastic union of Castile and Aragon in the 15th century. The Iberian penninsula is a geographic region. It has a history of homo sapiens sapiens inhabitation dating back tens of milennia.

                    You're a girl, paiktis? I didn't know that.

                    No, last time I checked!

If you're not, don't you mean she was bisexual?

                    As it turned out.

Just curiosity, but did this episode of reality soap opera happened in Portugal, Greece, or other country?

In Belgium. And it was more like 'Nightmare on Elm Street' after a while

And the nostalic word I presume you're talking about is...

                    Saudade!

Hmmm, I don't think it's that. It's a word that describes the broad category of these songs.

                    Obrigado is "thank you".

Yup and IIRC it's different when a man or a woman says it. Obrigado for men and Obrigada? for women. It means someting like "I am obliged to you" I think.

                    Drekkus,

Paiktis: you mean 'fado', really melancholistic (sp?) songs.

I am 99% sure that's it! And it is pronounced like "fathoo" right?

Portugues is about the coolest sounding language in the world. When Romario and Ronaldo played footbal in Holland they had the best accents, really smooth.

It sounded a bit like an eastern european language to me...! (like russian for example!). And I'm not the only one to have said that!

BTW, the portueguese guitars in these songs are mesmerizing. Distictive from the spanish ones and the language complements them perfectly! I had the chance to listen to them live.

And there are university bands that play them on festivities etc as I have heard. Keeping up the tradition in a way.

east european? That's new to me. Maybe something about the 's' sounds? Maybe Zealot can explain?

Yes, true, but the most usual meaning stands for "thank you".
                          Go figure!

Nope, it's pronounced fado. As is.

I can't see what's the fun in all the Spain-bashing. I have always loved that country and I visited almost all of its provinces. It certainly has a great history, and it certainly isn't "poor". Oh, and I don't share Giancarlo's fears of the military taking over.

                            Remember Tejero though...

                              Spain is a nice country.

I never said anything about the Spanish Military taking over. You are saying things I never said. I was talking about Argentina.

And by the way Tejero wasn´t military, he was in the civil guard.
