Hm. Well, I suppose my main language of education has been English for a good seven years now, which might account for it. I believe that what sets the foreigner and the native appart is not so much the basic gramattical structure, which is easy to learn, but the appropriate use of vocabulary and idioms. And speaking of bad English, lest any of you be hypocritical, why is it people say the word "done" when they really mean "finished"?
