It's a matter of shame IMO that the majority of the English (I won't speak for other anglophones) can't make themselves understood on even a basic level in any tongue bar their own.
Why? We only need to speak English because everyone else speaks it anyway.

CyberShy, yes, you have improved alot actually.

Snapcase I'd say speaks (or at least, writes, since i've never heard him speak) the best english of any foreigner that I know of here. It's all to easy to forget that he's not from the US, he writes like a college educated native english speaker.

I had fun when I went through Oz. It does have some interesting aspects of both new and old. I'd say the landscape is more wild and New World than the US. But the culture/people are more Old World than the US.

Most of the non-native speakers speak english better than I do and I'm supposedly the best in my school so .......

Ecthellions posts all seem to have great length at least.

I'm gonna have to put my vote for Giancarlo though - He's the only one I've noticed as having major oddities in his grammar but recently they've been cropping up less and less which denotes improvement.

What exactly is a modal tense anyway?

You guys need to go over to the AC fiction forum. There are posters with English as a second language posting stories. Not just chit chat.

Yes, very good CyberShy but I can't remember what your English was like before.

And Snapcase goes to uni in York so I would expect his English to be of a high standard, and I can also account for his spoken English.

OttoK eh? Now there's a blast from the past

If the question was about the best non-native English speaker here, Snapcase would get my vote. No doubt about it. Raging Mouse would come to the second place.¨

About who has improved the most... Well, I think I have got a lot better myself (though my style still tends to be quite dry), but as I am not egotistic enough to vote myself, Andz83/Chaos Warrior/Ecthelion gets my vote.

Or ottok, provided that he's a DL of Stefu and we can count Stefu's current skills as his skills...

I don't feel I've improved (much) as far as the grammar aspect goes...but I've learned a lot of words, phrases and expressions, which come in handy in my case studies and presentations...since my study is in English

BTW: Rich, Andy...you two heard my (vocal) English...what did you think of it...?
