Now here's a Democrat that really knows what he's doing--one of the wisest of politicians!

I saw him on Fox one night talking to Sean Hannity. This was shortly after the election. He was talking about how the Democratic Party must move to the center if it wants to get itself out of the mess that it's gotten itself into. I couldn't agree with the man more, like I agree with him on a "million" other things. The Democratic Party has moved too far to the left, which has alienated millions of swing voters.

Lieberman is one Democrat that I actually have a lot of respect for.

"And there will be strange events in the skies--signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And down here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. The courage of many people will falter because of the fearful fate they see coming upon the earth, because the stability of the very heavens will be broken up. Then everyone will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand straight and look up, for your salvation is near!" --Luke 21:25-28
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. --1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

One other important, eh um, factor: Bill O'Reilly is pro-choice if you didn't know.
I didn't even know that and I watch him alot, what does that say? If he's pro-choice he sure doesn't broadcast that to his audience much.

Berz, could be that two different reporters were involved?
          No, same guy.

But most media other than FOX is almost overtly anti-Republican even if they are perceived as grossly right-wing by foreign leftists. Think if Dan Rather's numerous "stories" on Bush and the war that seem to be supported by dubious documents and the like.

I personally think that it is high time for other major media to hire a Republican managing editor. I thought CBS would do so in replacing Rather in order to move CBS back into the mainstream and gain more viewers. Instead, they are about to hire the most ardent, pro-Democrat person they could possibly find. Ugh! So much of CBS New's future. It has none.
True, thats why Fox is so successful - Republicans and their base, conservatives, mainly social conservatives, have been ignored or insulted for so long by the more left media they flocked to Fox. Fox' success would decline if more cable news outlets compete for its audience.

I've never seen public outrage from the left at the past dominance of more left wing outlets.

For all you lefties, which would you rather live with:
              1. Democratic Party moves to the center, gets millions more swing voters to vote for them, wins more elections, Republicans and Democrats find some common ground, we end up with a Centrist Democracy in America.

                OR
              2. Democratic Party stubbornly stays too far to the left, loses millions of votes from swing voters, loses more elections than they win, stays the minority party in America, those, eh um, "radical" Republicans take over the country, we end up with a Conservative Democracy in America.

Take your pick, cuz it's the only two choices you got.

                Very legible.

Choice 3: Watch the great divide between the rich and everyone else grow ever wider with the accompanying decline in the standard of living of the middle class, the deterioration of public education, the vanishing hope of afforadable healthcare, the growing financial uncertainty of retirement, the increased polluting of the environment, the omnipresent invasion of personaly privacy and the economic statification of society.

Then throw in the political isolation of the U.S. from the world community and the Bush admiinstration's arrogant alienating of the Muslim world.

Dems don't have to move to the middle; the middle shall come to us.

                    Zkrib sums it up perfectly.

I would also throw in the increasingly whoring of the common man to the interests of big business (though this would fall under that decline in standard of living of the middle class category).

Everyone is saying everything other than FOX is left. And you are too, so your quote is as good a starting point as any

Fortunately for us all, politics is not so simple as set blocks of "moderates" and "conservatives" and set, static parties.

For predictions that parallel MNG's optomism, however, option 3: In 4 years, the Republican Party has disbanded because the common man has finally and for good seen how it is the root of all evil.

What you lefties want is the American Eagle chained to a iron ball labeled UN, and your want the French president to dictate US foreign policy.

Hah. The party that sneers at Walmart shoppers as being Republicans cannot possibly understand Joe Sixpack. The Dems are elitist snobs who are completely out of touch with the so-called "common man."

Since when does the left want fair and balanced reporting? That makes me crack up. All you guys do is distort, distort and distort some more. Take Michael Moore, the king of the left wing... a total distortion machine.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)
