Well, is it better to have an overt bias so people know where you are coming from, or to have a concealed bias so people think they are getting objective news when in fact they are seeing bias?

No major TV network is as obviously liberal as FOX is obviously conservative.
When Rupert Murdoch saw an untapped consumer base being ignored by liberal outlets.
Of course, it's a perspective thing, but when I think of it and I try to think of it from a moderate point of view, CNN and CBS,ABC,NBC may very well be "liberal" to those to the right of me but they blow FOX away in terms of being balanced.
And now we're going to have someone come up and say "well that's your OPINION!" Of course it is. Good thinking dip. Of course it's my opinion. But there was also a study done one time. If you watched FOX News, you were far more likely to have a conservative opinion on an issue. There wasn't a similar study done for the other networks, but we know one thing: FOX is not fair and balanced. Considering the wide viewer base and limited bias of the others, I seriously doubt that such a study would return similar results for liberal opinions on an issue.
But, lastly, all of this is old news. FOX has been conservative, and everyone else has been flaming liberal Commie America-hating traitors. Nothing new here.meet the new boss, same as the old bossComment

I occasionally watch a few minutes of Fox News... but for the same reason I watch a particularly ugly bug traverse a sidewalk...not because I'm expecting to get any news out of the thing. Rather it's just interesting to observed the functioning of such a horrendous monstrocity.Comment

What we REALLY need is a network that proudly flys the hammer and sickle on the screen for you leftist types. This is WAAAAY off topic, but today I was driving back home to MA from ON and noticed as I was driving through Burlington, VT that not ONE house I saw was flying Old Glory. I'm not saying no houses did, but that fact that I didn't see any says something.V, what do you expect from a network who constantaly has Old Glory waving proudly in the upper left of the screen. I am sure you noticed it.

Fox News is great. I have learned a lot watching the channel. In fact, learning how valuable and important censorship is to our well being has motivated me to employ censorship in my personal life.
Whenever I go to someone's house, I make sure to access their DirecTV receiver, when no one is looking, and employ "Locks and Limits" (with an unique password only I know) to lock out Fox News.

Coming from a country that actually does have left wing media (SBS and ABC... not liberal, left wing... I hate it how americans use the word liberal)... you can really see how F****ed fox is. I get it at my parent's house on pay tv... it's like watching a parallel universe. The right wing nuts in Australia couldn't hold a candle to the channel... well I guess they could, but our right wing nuts are restricted safely and soundly to radio and editorial columns... the rest is only slightly right wing. CNN is fairly harmless though. Speaking of internet sources... which ones are reliable? What should I be reading... I usually read ABC online (australian broadcasting corporation)...Comment
