1 election in the summer, 1 in the fall, and one in winter. [The Spring election was dropped.]

          • From the first post:

You have approximately 30 days to vote [Until January 19th).
and in the second post (dated 20th december) and written in bold:

Time Limit for voting is: 30 Days for this time.
            So what, now?

            • And later DC said he'd pull the closing line back to an earlier date. And when he posts "Final Results", those results are, well, final.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

Voting doesn't close till the 19th! We don't all check back regularly, so if you make a statement that we rely upon, don't go changing your mind and expect everyone to see it!

Please accept my vote. It is an important vote for the vocal minority....people who actually play civ games

                    • Sorry, can't do that-

And just to cover myself, I did state 'approximately'. Unforeseen consequences made it difficult for me to close it on the agreed-upon-date.

that being said- this election was open longer than any before it (~20 days). and consdiering taht it was a december election, the fact that it trailed so far into January was a bit odd.

Apologies for the inconvenience that was caused by not staying open the entire 30 days.

Well, I would have expected you to vote as soon as you saw the threads, or within a few days of having done so.

                      Apologies again.

                          • Well, that way we could elect 3 in June, 3 in September, and 4/5 in December.

Since the goal is to elect 10-12 people a year, it's easier to keep within those limits AND to make each election seem relevant by doing this.

If we had a spring election this year we'd have:

                            March - 2
                            June - 2
                            Sept - 2
                            Dec - 4

and it would seem less attainable for people with say, 30 votes less than the top 3 or 4 leaders to gain election. However, by allowing 3+ people to be voted in, the chances widen for people to gain.

                            At least that's my reasoning.
