Time Magazine Names President Bush 'Person of the Year'

I feared your country's history was awfully too short if you didn't have one of the real nasties.
What comes to mind is that Harding, Buchanan, and Grant were probably worse than Bush in the incompetence department, and Adams was much worse in the despotism department (the Alien and Sedition Acts put the Patriot Act to shame), and the pretenses for Polk's war were even flimsier than the pretenses for the Iraq war, etc., but the thing is that none of them was president of a superpower.

Well, who else was there to name? Viktor Yanukovich?
Actually, what about Yessir Arafat?
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
Keep saying it and maybe enough gullible people will believe you - but Apolyton seems to be lacking in enough gullibles for you

At least we aren't the ones doing business with Saddam.
What like when the US provided him with vital satellite intelligence on Iran back in the 1980's?
The US has always dealt with nasty regimes if it can make a profit, try reading up on history sometime.
EL freako.. el dumbo. You are the one guillible by falling into the left wing spin machine. You mismanage your economies.. the French, Germans and Russians have done deals with Saddam after the 1991 Gulf war when sanctions were imposed.. you were bribed billions. In fact I'm going to make one more charge, I believe peace activist groups were bribed by Saddam Hussein.
BTW, I can back myself up. Tarqiq Aziz named a bunch of people his boss Saddam bribed.

From the way I see it.. you guys on the left are probably involved with this corruption.
"U.S. officials say Aziz already has implicated the French and others, claiming payoffs were made with the understanding that recipients would support Iraq on key matters before the U.N.
"He pointed to specific individuals in Russia and France, in the United States — that received favorable treatment," says David Kay.
Now, sources tell NBC News that Aziz has indicated he's finally ready to talk about alleged bribes to U.N. officials. U.N. investigators refuse to comment."

Aha, name-calling. How childish - try using facts in future, I know you are unused to doing it but trying to shout people down and calling them names doesn't do much for your credability now does it child?

You mismanage your economies.
How exactly?
Our incomes have still risen, relative to the US, over the last decade.
Our employment has grown much faster, relative to our working-age-population.
Productivity growth has been a bit faster than in the US.
We have not relied on foreign central banks to finance our consumption.
Come on, please supply some evidence (look up the term if you're unfamilliar with it)

You must look at the current day situation. The US has less unemployment then most of the nations in the EU. The US economy is stronger. And you're a fool.

Sortof like People's "Sexiest Man Alive" who always happens to be some actor.
Plus, everyone Ted Striker is TEH Sexiest Man Alive. DUH.

So, the unemployment rate is more important than average income growth, productivity growth, employment growth and the health of international and public finances then?
That seems a rather narrow definition of economic prosperity to me. (it would also mean that Mexico was more prosperous than America by your definition)
You also have to ask yourself how much of the difference in unemployment rates (which are anyways only the difference between two much larger numbers - those employed and the workforce) have been flattered in the US's favor by the rapid workforce growth in europe and the very sluggish growth of the workforce in the US.
Why has the US has seen only a 1.7% rise in employment over the last 4 years compared to the EU15's 2.9%
And why the US's workforce grew 0.7% slower than it's population whilst the EU15's grew 1.6% faster.
The reason, of course, is that the EU's labour market has been improving much more rapidly than the US's.
