Asher often cites Apple's control of both software and hardware as being an anticompetitive monopoly, when it has been proved that a competitive market for Macintosh computers just doesn't work (the cloning debacle).

You mean the debacle that Apple created by first licensing it, then refusing to support the companies when they tried to actually clone the Apple machines, so the clones didn't work, before pulling the licensing right out from under them?

If IBM did that, PC clones wouldn't have worked either.

Totally different case, though. the original IBM PC got an open architecture so that anybody who was technically competent enough could reverse engineer the box. That's what the three founders of Compaq did. The only secret was the BIOS, but Phoenix was successful in duplicating the BIOS functions.

The difference here is the BIOS of the Skinny Mac was magnitudes more complicated than that of the IBM PC, to support the user interface.

I won't buy from Sony or several other hardware makers because they are trying to tell me what I can or can't do with music I've bought but luckily there are several makers who do sell players which let me decide what I want to play.

Portable Music players are the exact same. There are a ton of great players on the market several of which don't try to force me to only play music I buy from one company. I like competition and having choices there for I have never bought anything from Apple.
I'm with you brother. Mac sux, Real sux and more often than not Microshaft sux.

You're the one making the ridiculous assertion that Blue Mountain was suing Microsoft, but wasn't after any money.

When companies sue eachother, I've never heard of a case where they don't ask for money...

The ball is in your court.

You're still confused. How is that not fair?

How is it not fair that people only get to hear one side of the news?

              Are you serious?

That's not for you to judge, since some of your posts in that thread clearly showed that you were in an agitated state.
Er. So? The point is you're a moderator, and your actions should not be based on personal grudge.

His actions aren't based on a personal grudge, but on the fact you act like an asshat sometimes.

You are the one who asserted that Blue Mountain sued Microsoft for money. As usual, it's the proponent of an assertion that needs to provide evidence. I am still waiting.

You still failed to show that my actions were based on this alleged grudge.
