I'd bet a sizeable sum of cash that, should a contraceptive appear that is 100% effective at preventing pregnancy and stopping STDs, they'll find some other ridiculous reason to prevent people from having sex.
That's what it's about. You can only have sex with people they approve, in places and positions they approve of, and with the light off.
What abstinence folks really want is for people to realize sex isn't just "fun" but demands responsibility that goes beyond contraception and prevention of disease.
There is no 100% effective contraception except maybe tubal ligation. There are documented cases of vasectomy failing to prevent conception. There surely is no 100% effective prevention of disease. Should such technology be discovered it would not eliminate responsibility.(\__/) Save a bunny, eat more Smurf!
