Dude, they would so get in a fight over what the proper version of the Bible was: King James, New Anotated King Jame, Oxford, New American, etc. etc. etc.

        • That's why I said the three official ones , like the ones which can trace thir ancestry back to the original in the most convincing way .

          • That all depends on who's doing the tracing. There are probably around 100 million people in the U.S. who swear that the King James Version is the real Bible and that it was inspired by God. Any serious scholar, however, will tell you it was badly translated. It is, however, one of the major works of English literature.

            • Yes but any serious scholar excludes many Christian arguments.... creationism, continental drift, scriptural literalism for starters...

              • What do KJV-thumpers think of non-anglophone Protestants?
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

What gay characters? And don't say David and Jonathan. They were not gay.

Obviously, banning gay books is wrong. I believe in free speech. let everyone, pro-gay and anti-gay publish their views and let people read what they want and make up their own minds.

                      • There was a historical-fiction novel I read a few years ago in which the time period was the Civil War. In the story, two of the many characters were Confederate soldiers and they **** and also fall in love with one another.

I wish I remember the title, damn it.

                            • Oh, yes, I'm too lazy to browse the thread: does "gay book" mean a book with explicite gay sex in it,
a book with gay motives even, or a book that was written by a gay guy?
