you ever been to socal? the toll roads there are sometimes godsend. theres just too many people, too many cars and not enough highway. in fact someone should build toll road for commuters not stopping in LA around LA, with one entrance (from the 5 somewhere in the OC) and one exit (just north of the 210 on the 5)
Well, I always say that if the only reasonable way to commute is a toll road, something is ****ed. WRG to toll roads, I say that at least let them regulate it, and/or set floating tolls, that would drop to zero at no-rush hours.

I hate toll roads. All a toll road means in my mind is that the government hasn't been doing it's job in providing the highways citizens have paid for.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

The problem with that is -- of course the government isn't doing its job. The solution is to let private companies provide an alternative to escape the perpetual f*ck-ups and politics."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

since roads dont cost as part of a user fee, people use it more often than they should, and dont carpool, etc, resulting in more traffic. increasing the size of the road wont do it, because eventually there will be more people and then the road will be crowded again. the only way would be to install toll along highways, and no matter how many more people move into the area, you can regulate the flow of traffic.

the 101S isnt that big from SB to ventura. its like what, a two lane highway, three lane in some spots? i mean, i guess you're all alone on the road so theres no one out there to hit, but if you get a ticket, your license is gone. 90 in a 65 zone?

It's been years since I was in college. BTW it's a four lane the whole way and then turns into a six lane in SB.Originally posted by Lawrence of Arabia
