phish, too... i don't particularly like listening to a five minute song over the course of half an hour...I wasn't born with enough middle fingers.

I second the nomination for the Grateful Dead. I kinda like Sugar Magnolia in a way, that's about it. They were just a lot of weak tunes propped up by smarmy folksiness and trippy logos. Not really bad, but not that good.
I also dislike James Taylor, whichever wuss sings "Sweet Caroline," and Blind Melon, though nobody cares about them today. The Doors aren't that good, but they aren't absolutely wretched.
Finally, for now at least, there's something absolutely appalling about Dave Matthews. Maybe it's because one of my old roommates played him like 24/7, but everything he ever played sounds soulless and bland to me.

No one else has mentioned the Beach Boys (I did back on page 1)? Really, every time I read something suggesting "Pet Sounds" is comparable to, or even better than, "Sgt. Pepper," I'm utterly baffled. And now the reconstruction of "Smile" is being treated like they found the rest of Schubert's Unfinished Symphony.
All this attention without any refernce to the central fact that all their songs sound exactly the same. Honestly, I just don't get it."I have as much authority as the pope. I just don't have as many people who believe it." — George Carlin

*Takes Rufus off the list *Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

My vote most definitely goes to the Rolling Stones. Their songs sound the same and most often are just covers of old blues tunes anyhow.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

One of the things that boggles my mind on a daily basis is just what complete **** radio is now. After reading some of the choices here, I now understand what has happened to the medium. It has nothing to do with corporate take-overs and bean-counters, its just that their current target audience are tasteless.
