Please reread the part about the ideal candidate being a fiscal conservative. Yes, it does help if you argue about what people say and not what you wish they'd say.

The original post specified a social progressive who would balance the budget. I replied by saying that meant someone who would enact a ton of new social programs, and pay for them by raising taxes. It's still fiscally responsible from a certain point of view, but it also still wouldn't be accepted in the US.
