  • Because Conservatives like Bush who were born with silver spoons in their mouths have no traces of elitism .

While, Barak Obama, on the other hand, is a total elitist .

A number like that is just plain shameful for Bush, but it's an unfortunate situation to me as a Democrat: either people are voting because of the color of their skin or there are far more economically disadvantaged blacks than those that are well-off (I can understand an economic gap.) In both situations America still has a long way to go with race issues.
I think blacks should listen to Bill Cosby instead of voting for the same old democrats. They should understand who they are voting for. Democrats don't ever deliever on any of the promises they make.

He lambasted their language, decried their decorum and panned their parenting. No wonder Bill's Cosby's remarks about African Americans have created a stir. Were his words a welcome wake-up call? Or a misguided attack? Bill Cosby joins NPR's Lynn Neary to discuss his controversial comments. Plus, hear how teachers are using Cosby's words in the classroom.

        • I have a feeling that most blacks are not socialists and vote Democrat because they actually believe Democrat propaganda about the Republican party. But gradually, blacks will learn the truth, especially if Republican politicians like Bush make direct appeals for their votes as Bush did in this last election and continue to place blacks into positions of power and prestige. Patriotism, conservative social values and the opportunities offered by a strong economy are things many blacks value just as much as every other American.

You mean, in the past there were even more Blacks who voted Democrat than this time?

Yes. The Republicans have been making up some ground. Before Roosevelt, Republicans had about 85% of the black vote. Today, it is around 11%. Bush had hoped to move it up to 18% this election, but failed.

Democrats are very good a demonizing Republicans. They have been doing it since Jackson (the Whigs became republicans in 1856). Democrats like to say that they are the party of the common man and that the Republicans are the party of the rich. In truth, though, the Democrats were long the party of Jim Crow and are today largely a party dominated by socialists. The Republican Party has long been a party favoring a good business climate and conservative social values. They believe that a rising tide lifts all boats and that the kind of welfare that becomes a way of living is wrong.

Many if not most blacks believe that Republicans are racists and will not vote for them even if they agree with the party's positions. Hopefully, that will change as Republicans continue to foster the careers of conservative blacks and to actively work to bring better education and jobs to the ghetto.

              • Well the group that republicans are making utterly massive gains in is the hispanic segments of the population.

Of course, it was the Republican North that freed the Blacks from the Democrat South in the Civil War. They were heavily Republican after that (along with most of the country).

Which is based on the aforementioned Democratic propoganda smear campaign.

                  • Another smear the Democrats trot out routinely, and have been doing so for 70 years, is that the Republicans want to end Social Security. This has kept the worried elderly in the Democrat camp until now. Why the change? Well the Republicans have been in charge for 10 years and all they have done is give seniors more Medicare benefits and have not terminated Social Security.

Gradually, people who have been fooled by Democrat demonization are not being fooled anymore. They are voting Republican.

But this also goes to show you how the Democrats have remained a strong party since its first days: demonization of the opposition. People who vote Democrat should be wary of a party that offers little more than propaganda as their platform -- that, and socialism, another false promise.

Funny your reasoning does not explain why the republicans made huge strides in the latino vote. If they made such gains amongst the racist rednecks, why oh why did they make such huge gains amongst latinos? You don't know what you are talking about first off, and you haven't a slightest clue. You are just resorting to ad hominems now... you're desperate and desperate people say stupid things. And the republican party is still a respectable party of businessmen but now it includes everyday people. The democrats on the other hand are a party of corruption (explains why they are crumbling).
