By the year 2100 AD well more than half of the Muslim population will be dead.

I'd imagine that all of the Muslim population around now would be dead by that time from natural causes.

ISLAMIC preachers in Germany have been told that they may be ordered to deliver their sermons in German rather than in Arabic in an attempt to halt racist diatribes.

The move reflects Berlin’s fears that a spark of ethnic and religious unrest could leap from the Netherlands to Germany, a country with more than three million Muslims.

Support for such a move is growing after a television channel used hidden cameras to film the imam of a Berlin mosque frequented by young Turks. He was heard telling worshippers that “Germans can only expect to rot in the fires of hell because they are non-believers”.

The Germans, he said, would only support Turkish entry to the European Union if the Turks ripped down the minarets and bulldozed the mosques. Moreover, Germans smelt badly: “These nonbelievers, these Europeans, they do not even shave under their armpits, so that sweat gathers in their hair and makes them stink.”

So Charles, this mad mullah has insulted our European custom of not shaving under our armpits (among other things). Would it be OK in your view for some brave, patriotic European to kill him for what he has said criticizing European culture? You said the killer of Van Gogh was a brave man for murdering a critic of Islam - would you be so understanding if an imam were killed for criticizing European values?

If not, you're a hypocrite. If you do, then you live in a world where the idea of rule of law doesn't apply, and I find that quite frightening.

First Europe doesnot want Turkey in the ECU and is looking for any excuse. Islam is growing rapidly as it have answer to problen. Plus that Dutch Filmmaker was speading a liar that all muslim man beat they wife. Than rabbis told me it that was true they couldnot have kid's to carry on they name. In the 1960's and 1970's most America states didnot enforce law against wife-beating either. That Imnan was stateing than truth which Europe

Anti-terror rally in Cologne

Twenty-thousand people, predominantly of Turkish origin, have staged an anti-terrorism, pro-peace march in the German city of Cologne. This follows urgings by Germany's politicians that the country's three million resident Muslims take a stronger stance again Islamist fundamentalism, especially in the wake of recent violence in the Netherlands. Protestors chanted "Islam is against terror" and carried German, Turkish and European flags. The rally was attended by numerous politicians, including conservative Bavarian state interior minister Guenther Beckstein and Greens co-leader Claudia Roth. She warned against wholesale prejudice against Muslims. The rally was organised by the Turkish-Islamic Union, which, with 800 mosques, is the largest religous grouping of Turks in Germany.

Since the events in the Netherlands there is a lot of panic here in the media if similar things could happen anywhere in Europe, and in Germany too, although there is no imminent threat. Of course one demo doesn't solve our problems but I'm quite glad that a lot of muslims decided to speak out against the fundies

Boff, your ability for self-delusion is remarkable. If Islam is growing so rapidly because it offers people answers, pray tell why we get so many Muslims converting to Christianity in Ireland (admittedly nearly all of them are Nigerian women, but there are still a lot). The Muslim population of Ireland grew from 3,000 to 19,000 in the last census, but the Christians gained 229,000 and the atheists even more. If you want to compare rate of growth figures, the Russian Orthodox Church went from 800 to 10,000, surely that pwns all!

Wrong again. There is substantial lobbying for Turkey to join the EU from member countries e.g. Britain. Your ignorance really shines through here: you agree with what the Imam says about us making Turkey tear down its mosques if it wants to join the EU. But the fact is that the EU is far more tolerant towards expression of Islam than Turkey is. Turkey wouldn't put up with this Muslim loon stuff the way we do here in Europe.



How about we let Turkey join and, in the spirit of identifying with our Muslim brothers there, adopt some of Turkey's laws towards the treatment of Islam? You'd wind up in jail very quickly CHB in such an environment.
