The Celtics won their first championship against St. Louis (1957), the Bruins broke a 29 year Stanley Cup drought against St. Louis (1970), the Patriots won their first Superbowl over St. Louis (2002), AND NOW, the Red Sox broke an 86 year drought over St. Louis
.

My fiancee was oddly indifferent about the outcome. She kept saying "I should be happy, but I don't really care."

We got one. First team ever to win 8 straight in a postseason. World champions. We beat the MFY despite Steiny trying to buy another series ring by spending 60 million more in payroll. They clinched the 1918 series, with a win by Ruth, on September 11th of that year.
