Don't be such a sad old git, it's only property. Think of the relationships that will start tonight as strangers will have sex with strangers, think of the number of children that will be conceived tonight.

        Happy times...

        • Interesting fact:

The Celtics won their first championship against St. Louis (1957), the Bruins broke a 29 year Stanley Cup drought against St. Louis (1970), the Patriots won their first Superbowl over St. Louis (2002), AND NOW, the Red Sox broke an 86 year drought over St. Louis .

Boston loves playing those St. Loo teams .

              • If I had a hat right now, it would be off for the Sox.

                    • Congratulations to the Red Sox. I hope there isn't too much mayhem up in Beantown.

My fiancee was oddly indifferent about the outcome. She kept saying "I should be happy, but I don't really care."

She's never been a hardcore fan, though, so she's probably the exception.

Naaah, it's called a shutdown, not a meltdown. Your precious MFY got shut down, now sit down.

We got one. First team ever to win 8 straight in a postseason. World champions. We beat the MFY despite Steiny trying to buy another series ring by spending 60 million more in payroll. The Sox showed more heart and soul and guts than any other team, they had fun doing it, and they're world champions.

If the pattern holds, the Red Sox won't make it to the series next year.

                          • more facts - the last time the Red Sox one the series, in 1918, theyd never lost a series.

They clinched the 1918 series, with a win by Ruth, on September 11th of that year.

                            • /me expects Boston to trade Pedro Martinez to the Yankees and for him to hit 146 home runs next year.

If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.
