it's simple, you don't allow teachers to take their kids to vote as a field trip.

voting should be an independant activity. Not coerced in any way.

Also, as for whether teens are educated enough to be able to vote, I think this thread proves my point exactly:

The majority of Bush supporters seem to have no clue about reality (I'm sure many Kerry supporters would be equally clueless on different issues), but all of these dangerously incompetent adult voters have the right to vote. That's just dumb.

Agreed. Though what of the senior centers who bus seniors to the polls? Much of these people are so dazed they are still voting for Roosevelt.

Actually, I would bet that a lot more teens would vote than adults, just because it would probably be organized through their high school and so they'd be right there.

I think most kids would vote for Repubs too, because all those damned liberal teachers and the stupid teen rebellion stage.

While it certainly doesn't matter who teens would vote for, but in a recent mock election by high school students, Bush did eek out a victory. It was tight though.

long as they aren't required to go, I'm okay with it. It's just transportation after all. But if they required all seniors to attend, I'd have a problem with it.

If they have a right to vote, then it is absolutely unjust to prohibit young people.

Two wrongs do not make a right

There is no requirement voters be smart, educated, literate or even sane.

Does that mean you should do it ust because you can?

                    That's just dumb.

Yes, it is. But again, that doesnt mean that you should be encouraging more of the same From my obervations (which is limited, I admit) children are interested in superfulous things, and they'd just listen to their parents to vote.
"Dad, who should I vote for?"
                    "Bush"
                    "OK!"

American adults are bad enough, but American children would be chaos.

the problem is that most teens under the voting age aren't independant. they still live with parents, who can influence their voting decision more than any other person. that's why they shouldn't be allowed to vote.
