Bush was asked if he thought homosexuality was a choice, and he said he didn't know.
**** he's retarded. I just turned the damn thing off.
That is actually probably the correct response. We don't know. I am currently leaning towards not being a choice, but admit that it is not on powerful evidence.

"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003
Kerry claimed Bush "has taken a $5.6 trillion surplus and turned it into deficits as far as the eye can see." But the country never actually had a $5.6 trillion surplus. The projected surplus Kerry was referring to was a 10-year figure that was already made dubious by a weakening economy and a pent-up Congressional urge to spend. The largest annual surplus actually realized was $236 billion in fiscal year 2000, which ended a month before Bush was elected.
That one was obvious. No one really think that the 5.6 trillion thing was a 1-year amount.
If Bush looses this election, it will be because of the debates. Kerry was very good in all the debates. Very smoothe.
These debates remind me a lot of the Nixon/Kennedy debates. Nixon was way ahead, then lost heavily in the debates because Kennedy was so polished compared to Nixon.
On this debate, Bush did a lot better than in the other two. The reason was because he was smiling, etc. But, still, it was a little painful to watch.

Kerry won this won easily.
Bush was stammering and stuttering... and using words improperly. He was clearly nervous and speaking poorly.
Kerry was strong, resolute, and clear.
Kerry B+
Bush D
I originally gave Bush a D-, but I'm feeling generous.
hmm, why am I not surprised?
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

The polls shows a clear Kerry victory, and on content and connecting to the swing vote it was a clear Kerry victory.
Wether or not you want Bush to win, you have to admit he is not connecting to the swing vote very well at all.

"If there's a child on the south side of Chicago who can't read, that matters to me, even if it's not my child. If there's a senior citizen somewhere who can't pay for her prescription and has to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poorer, even if it's not my grandmother. If there's an Arab American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that threatens my civil liberties. It's that fundamental belief -- I am my brother's keeper, I am my sister's keeper -- that makes this country work." - Barack Obama
