What a load of crap. Although considering what Lucas has pulled with these "prequels", it would fit right in.

Ozzy, I can't believe you, of all people, would deny the Empire the glory and grandeur it so deserves just because it's too young for your tastes.

Wellllllll, yes and no. In the books, clones with hyper accelerated growth outside of the force do exhibit tell tale signs of being clones...

BUT, clones grown at a normal, accelerated growth do not - at least that's what the books say.

But hey, who knows, has the script to the last one been written yet?

You can't go on the books I suppose. Lucas has pretty much wiped it all aside and redid it himself, warts and all.

And yes the script is written, and the movie has been shot, and it might be mostly done I think. It'll be out next year, I bet they are in post production by now.

Well, hopefully Lucas won't screw up the whole timeline. I mean, they like 50 books out now. It'd be a shame to screw up everything.

What I would really like to see, and this is what got me hooked on the books, at least the ones with the Empire in them, not those dumb bio-weapon people, is a Thrawn trilogy movie.

Thrawn was the Empire at its greatest. He was the best tactician they ever had, was an alien of all things, and was written by Timothy Zahn, a damn good author. He carried none of that "I am evil and flawed from hate", only the drive for order. I think he was a better nemesis to the New Republic than anyone else and had a better best chance of destroying the Rebellion, more than anyone else, including Palpatine.

Good, I thought it was just me that found the Yu-whatever Vong dumb, uninspiring and a damn fine reason to quit reading the books. I tried to hang on for the first few, but they felt an awful lot like that sequel that you have no doubt halfway through will be the absolute last one, simply because it's an interest-killer.

Thrawn was, indeed, the Empire at its finest. I became a Zahn fan with that trilogy, and I don't even read sci-fi, outside the SW books.

As far as Lucus is concerned all story lines from books are expendable. He may take what he likes and can directly contradict at his pleasure A few EU (expanded universe) things have crept into offical movie cannon but on the whole it's not too likely he will pay much attention to the timelines set out in various books or games.

I would say that any future movie series is doubtful. Although there is an expectation of some sort of TV series. Again at the pleasure of Darth Lucus

Yeah, Lucas doesn't care too much about the books. They aren't canon. They are just people who want to write some fiction about his universe. If he messed them up... too bad.

I still say Anakin turned to the Dark Side before AotC.

I don't like the idea of the Vong either, not that I would have read those books anyway.

It was nice to be able to say the books and everything all fit together, but it looks like even Star Wars has alternate realities. I know you would all love it if they throw in some time travel to explain it!

He may have ventured into dark side area and been tempted, but I don't think you can be 'turned' until you've acknowledged that you are going into the Dark Side.

When it's you whose living it, twenty years feels like a long time. A whole generation grew up knowing nothing but the Empire, so the Republic would be the Old Republic.
yeah, but htey way they talk about it, makes it seems ancient, not jsut like a twenty year ago thing.

yall do realize you're referring to a movie as 'canon'... yall are aware of that right?

and though i've never seen any of the star wars movies, for some reason from some unknown source, i thought the emperor was a former senator who seized control. i dont know how or why i had that idea i just thought that was how it happened in the movies.

speaking of science fiction and things happening in 'disappearing time'... doesn't star trek have this situation? With Enterprise confusing the whole chronology established in the shows and the movies?
