Star Wars: Time Scale Issues

After the 900th two-page description of how a Vong disfigures himself to experience the glory of pain and reinforce his connection to his forefathers and the glory of pain that only such glorious pain can bring to one who is pure of gloriously painful heart and the living weapons he gloriously, painfully binds himself to, I knew it would be a struggle to keep up with these.

Oh, and that came in about the third chapter of the first book.

for some reason i was always under the impression that the emperor was a former senator... matter fact i remember why i know this... when i was in 6th grade, there was this girl i liked who was into star wars (it was when the movies were re-done) so the next time there was a book fair, i noticed some star wars books and i bought some sort of movie scrapbook thing to see why she liked it so much.

it was mostly pictures but i learned the plot through that book if i recall correctly and for some reason, the emperor being a senator stuck in my mind. it was just a scrapbook of pictures designed for little kids though but i dont know.

democracy is often used synonymously with republic. if you want to debate the subtle nuances between them, we can do so, but the point is, they're synonyms.

besides, it had to be the Republic of something... the Empire of something... can't just be Republic or Empire.

Yes it can. It was the Republic. You can have something called a capital-R Republic. You cannot have a capital-D Democracy. Democracy is just a concept; Republic, Empire, Federation, etc. are all actual things.

I didn't make the thread to discuss the former occupation of the Emporer.

I'm just discussing the length of the Empire. It just doesn't fit.
