What is that on the right? Is she standing in back of a cutout or something?

Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
I'm consitently stupid- Japher I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

btw how is the English speaking over there? This may have already been asked before, but I don't remember.
If I were to retire over there, it would be nice if I could communicate with people . I know a little spanish, but I doubt they speak that much anymore. I certainly don't know anything about asian languages.
Among the educated, English is very good over there. Most that I met seemed to speak some English. Tagalog (more around Manila) has a lot of spanish and english words. Cebuano (more around Cebu) is a lot more confusing for me.

cool pics. So everyone was pretty positive towards americans? no dirty looks or anything?
Oh, much to the contrary.
My favorite memory is when Lancer, Theban and I were walking back from the cafe, and we came across an ancient woman hobbling along. She looked up to see us and her face exploded into a wide grin like it was Christman. "Oh!" she exclaimed, "American boys!"
(My guess is that she is of that generation who remembers us for kicking out the Japanese Imperial Army in WWII.)

Most of Dolores's family spoke some english, even if broken. Well enough to communicate. When they spoke to each other they would switch between english, spanish, tagalog, and vesayen the same way SoCal hispanics switch between english and spanish.

Glad you both had a good time in Cebu. We're heading over there on Monday, Raoul's birthday party. We'll be staying at his house but will hit the Waterfront for dinner and drinks. WooHoo!
Anybody here right now?
