  • Oh, and I didn't even go into the magnitude of the lies, and there are more Kerry "lies" that are truth strechings or roughly true statements that I still counted as a lie. I admit I didn't count it up compared to Bush, but there seemed to be a lot more "white lies" from Kerry than from Bush.

Of course, both sides have a number of blatant lies.

If there's a senior citizen somewhere who can't pay for her prescription and has to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poorer, even if it's not my grandmother. If there's an Arab American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that threatens my civil liberties. It's that fundamental belief -- I am my brother's keeper, I am my sister's keeper -- that makes this country work." - Barack Obama

I forgot -- pragmaticism and praticality are not your strong points when it comes to voting.

      • Actually my rationale is quite simple. Georgia is a foregone conclusion for Bush. My vote is simply a vote to endorse by and large the Lib platform agenda items in the vain hope that some may be incorporated into major party platforms going forward.

        IMO practical and pragmatic.

So While the number of articles doesn't seem that out of kilter (10 vs 8), many more lies are coming from the Bush camp.

I trust your results. Feel free to keep us posted.

Actually, that makes you be default a pessimist: liberals believe Man can change his own fate and through ideas recreate society for the better.

Conservatives don't believe man has this ability- at best they think man, through a set of rules an values slowly evolving through centuries can make things better without collapsing. Its corservatives who believe in Original Sin. Not LIberals.

Exactly the reason to be optimistic rather than advocating the pessimism required of liberals to encourage revolution, and teh ensuing death and destruction as has been so often the case in human history.

You got to tear down something to build something up- you would not be alive unless lots of other things died in order for you to ingest them. We had to blow away a mountain to make Mt. Rushmore, so forth and so on.

I'm a liberal and I'm also an optimist.

I'm a liberal and I do not advocate for radical revolution.

Yes, kinna. Of course, what matters is what you build on it. If you tear down a burned down husk to replace it with a burning pile of garbage, that is no improvement

Tell it to GePap who made the generalizations about libs and conservatives. I only spoke for myself (and perhaps if you stretch it fellow conservatives).
