just buy a cheap dell and do a few upgrade on it yourself. like adding in more ram and a better graphics card. dell's can be a really good deal if you do that as they have fairly good motherboards(usually, you should check), decent cases/power supply, good cpus, etc for a good price.

yeah my mom and my sister each have a dell... I would classify it as reliable, quiet, and a perfect fit for their needs. It is lacking, however, in RAM and video card.

Speaking of video cards, I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I might be getting a Geforce FX 6800 Ultra 256 meg card for about $100.
To us, it is the BEAST.

Would it help if I gave some specs of the computers I was looking at?

Definitely a hot-rod of a computer, but really expensive.

Why would you possibly waste that much money on a computer?

Hey, Nuke Master, if you want, I can build you a PC and you can buy it from me via paypal (or Ebay). I could build you one like the one you listed for far less than the cost.

As for software, I can put on anything you want (including games). It won't exactly be "legally purchased" however.

Ah, great! How is everything? Is the sound of the fan very loud? How was the procedure of actually purchasing it, and going through the phases?

It's a notebook, so the noise is tolerable. I usually wear headphones anyway.

You go to the website, fill out the form, they bill you, assemble and ship it. I got three DHL coupons for service returns and a free T-Shirt . Which is what one should expect after being ripped off
