Who said anything about liking killing people? If it's a choice between me or my men (btw I'm joining the Royal Navy after uni and am currently in the OTC) and the enemy coming home in a plastic bag, I'd say him anytime. If a piece of technology can help that, I'll take it.

Excuse me? What, just because I believe that if technology can help me survive, I'm a moron? Your logic is totally wacked. Next you'll be arguing in favour of just using sticks...

There is a difference between not wanting you and your own men to die, if it can be prevented, and being a coward and afraid of death.

Stop trolling, or at least do a better job of it.

Er... where did I say that I thought it was ok to conduct war? My posts all concerned the use of technology in a war, not whether that war was right. Frankly, if the people being bombed pose a threat, then they're a legitimate target in my view and you're dumb if you think otherwise.

Verto: hehe its you with your unbelievable crap who are trolling. If I was still in the army, I would have some sence of pride not to use weapons like that. If its a worthy cause, i'm willing to die unlike you corrupt americans. Go eat your big macs

I'm NOT an American, I'm British, hence the flag! You're an idiot in my opinion if you're willing to let your own troops die just to fulfil some sense of 'fairness'... write that to their mothers...

What are you, stupid or something? How could these people appear threatening to you? People running away from a building like that are not a threat to anyone. Couple of machine guns would have done the job or a well trained units, perhaps you could have captured some POWs too. This is all under the assumption that they werent civilians.

Er... I never said that either. I never made specific reference to the event in question in my arguments in favour of the use of technology in warfare. I spoke generally, not about any specific event. You were the one that believed that Europeans were incapable of such things, when any idiot knows they have the capability.

Hmm, let me see, we have planes right? British Tornadoes were used in both Gulf Wars, and they weren't just there cause they look pretty... Britain is in Europe, or at least that's what my geography teacher said. NATO forces (including Europeans) were responsible for bombing Serbia too, so I think you'll find that there're plenty of examples.

Whatever the person who said 'oh dude' in the video was expressing it certainly doesn't sound like any kind of regret or sympathy. But so what? It's not like there will be more suffering or less suffering dependant on the attitude of the soldiers in these aircraft. I imagine some of them cope with the situation by objectifying their job as a kind of high stakes 'game' of sorts. 'Oh dude' was probably the same thing they would say nuking a city for the first time playing civ. What matters more would be if they never come to grips with what actually happened later on when the pressure is off and they can afford to let it impact them.

Not likely. Historically perpetuators of atrocities almost never paid any price for their actions. They grow old and die and that is the end of it.
