Now, I've never understood the point of this, or of the RJ Reynolds boycott. By reducing the profitability of that company's non-weapon (or non-tobacco) sectors, aren't you forcing it to depend on and develop the weapon (or tobacco) sector more?
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Well, I couldn't find any links. I saw it in my books back in highschool, as they used Mars Company as an example of diversified holding.

I would expect Mars not to trumpet it, but if the weapon sectors is completely absent from their website, even while searching, I guess they are done with weapons.

To the best of my knowledge, Dannon doesn't make weapons. And they have considerably re-centred their activity on food recently.

But for example, Thomson is a French electronic company, which makes consumer products, and weapons. I have never been confronted to buying a Thomson TV or radio, but I think I'll prefer some competitor that doesn't produce weapons.

It is not an economic rationale, but an ideological one: I try not to support those who make the tools of death.

              PARIS COMMUNE KETCHUP

              REMEMBER 1871
Arise ye starvelings from your slumbers; arise ye prisoners of want
The reason for revolt now thunders; and at last ends the age of "can't"
Away with all your superstitions -servile masses, arise, arise!
We'll change forthwith the old conditions And spurn the dust to win the prize

Because they sell food to a military entity, which uses your weapons of death, for a profit.

Which offends your ideology more? Making weapons or using them?

I always buy Heinz. It's the only ketchup around that works well with an adults taste buds.

I eat my French Fries with mustard, which in another time would have had me black listed as a communist (imagine!).

Why so? I mean, ketschup is red, mustard is not.

All red blooded Americans eat their french fries with ketchup. It is treason to do otherwise.

I'd recommend French fries with mayonaise.
